Horrible customer experience. Austin's Decks Unlimited took 4 extra weeks to finish new back deck and the end result is very janky looking. They also refused to fix the gutter so now I have to hire another company to come fix ADU's mistakes. I paid ADU $50k and took them at their word that they'd come back and fix their mistakes - they now refuse to come back and honor their word. I can't believe they're still in business but I've opened complaints with all the regulatory agencies. Avoid Austin's Decks Unlimited like we did Covid.

Got a quote for deck from them. Specifically asked for certain color and certain brand of composite decking but they gave a quote for Timbertech. So I went around and looked for colors and finally picked a color according to the materials in the quote that they gave and now they updated the quote again and now used cheaper materials and also increased the price by 6000$. The original quote had a 30 day price guarantee which they would not honor. Completely unprofessional. Glad I am not building with them, at least they did not increase the price mid project.

After bidding out a new deck build to several companies, I hired Austin’s Decks Unlimited to build the new deck. The deck was a 13X11’ with a cattle panel. I was told build time would be a week, but it actually took two weeks. The work done in the first week was the demo, the second week the concrete pour, underpinning, and Trek composite boards were installed. I was out of town the first week but back on the second week. During the demo, an irrigation pipe was found under the old deck. I was contacted and I told ADU that this particular piece was capped off. The irrigation system's main pipe was buried in the walkway in front of the existing old deck. This area was not included in our conversation about being capped off. A week after the deck was built, I put downfall fertilizer in the backyard and attempted to water the area. To my surprise, there was no water coming from any of the area sprays. I hired an irrigation company to diagnose and fix the problem. The Diagnosis: the problem was in fact in front of the deck and the pipe was either stopped up or broken not allowing water to pass to the valve. To my dismay, the walkway in front of the deck had to be dug up to find the problem. Problem Found: Austin’s Deck Unlimited had poured concrete on top of the pipes instead of around the pipes. This caused great pressure on the PVC pipe and eventfully broke it. The irrigation company fixed this by cutting the PVC off the concrete and moving it further out in the front of the deck. Once this was finished my irrigation system was back to normal. The next thing was to send an email to Austin’s Decks Unlimited with an explanation and pictures of what had happened. I received a phone call from the owner of Austin’s Decks Unlimited (Chris). Chris told me he sent pictures of the PVC under the deck and in front of the deck. I never received any pictures from Chris, and I ask him to resend those to me and if this was true I would drop the lawsuit. I never received the pictures. I was home when the concrete was poured onto the pipes. Large holes were dug for the post being used and quik-crete poured into the hole. This was exactly where the PVC Pipes were located. At this point is when Chris should have come to me and told me he had found another irrigation PVC pipe. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I don’t know if this was a mistake or done intentionally, I only know it stopped my irrigation system from working. The bottom line is the owner of Austin’s Decks Unlimited refused to pay the irrigation repair claiming it was my fault, not his. I am suing Austin’s Decks Unlimited for the cost of the irrigation repair. I was fooled by Chris’s honest behavior and I felt like he and his company knew what they were doing. With Austin’s Decks Unlimited I will not make the same mistake twice.

Don't recommend. I hired Austin Decks Unlimited last year for a deck project. Chris assured me we could proceed in phases. The first phase was completed on time and on budget. There weren't any surprises, and I was happy. I even left positive reviews for them. However, in January, I worked with them to bid the second phase, accepted their bid, and entered into a new contract for the second phase in March. I didn't hear from them for 6 weeks, and I followed up twice. Then, Chris calls me to tell me they are not going to honor the contract because the profit margin wasn't big enough. Chris basically told me that if I wanted them to complete the project, I'd have to pay more than double what he had contracted. How disappointing... I truly thought that I had found a diamond in the rough with these guys, but I guess not. Now, I have the impossible task of trying to find a deck builder that will complete the job they started...
