10 out of 10 experience, I would use them again. The guys in the repair shop are very professional, and they help you select premium parts. Their service is always fast and they are very reliable.

The mechanics here are wonderful, knowlegable and kind. The salespeople on in the other building are extremely rude though, they treated me like someone they needed to get rid of, not a prospective customer.

I called this place yesterday afternoon after being kindly recommended from Cycle Progression (much more helpful and friendly experience there) and asked about what kind of bikes they had/what their price ranges are. After saying my budget for a bike was about $200, the guy on the phone rudely told me to go to walmart. I dont know much about bikes, as I am new to the bike market, but at least the employees at Cycle Progression kindly explained to me which bikes to stay away from (such as ones from walmart).

Do not go for bike maintenance, tune-ups, or any issues involving bike repair! They will charge you for things they haven't done, and they've never actually fixed issues with my bike, only a quick temporary fix to charge me and get me out the door. The people who work there don't seem to genuinely care about what you have to say in comparison to other bike repairs shops in town. Honestly, Austin has so many other bike shops that will treat you better then this place and actually work with you to solve the issue and not overcharge like Bike Farm does. I've taken in my bike multiple times to Bike Farm and have never left feeling comfortable or satisfied. The most recent time I went because my bike chain was stuck. I told the guy the issues I've had with my bike and that I probably need a new chain. I'm always down to invest in my bike- so I also tell them if there's anything you notice that needs more work or think something would be better if I got a new part I am willing to invest. They suggested doing other tune-ups which I agreed too. When I picked up my bike, it still had the same old chain which still had some rust. I told the guy my bike looks the same and it really had some issues that I feel they didn't look into. He told me the chain was fine and had plenty of life. It survived the bike ride home, but on the second ride the chain literally broke off while I was riding it and I had to walk it home. The quick tune up includes tire truing and brake adjustment which I found out later they didn't do (or at least didn't do correctly). I'm almost positive they never gave my bike a legit test ride because the seat was in the same position I leave it in. The previous time I went to Bike Farm I wasn't satisfied and I feel like they didn't listen to me when I said I felt the bike still needed more work, and the issues came back after a week of riding. I so badly wanted to go back and complain about the chain breaking and do a "I told you so" but I didn't even feel like dealing with them anymore. People recommended I go to Clown Dog to get my bike fixed. This is where I found out Bike Farm didn't actually true my tires or adjust my brakes (even though I was charged for it it) as the Clown Dog people showed me it was still off. They also pointed out several issues with other bike parts Bike Farm never discussed, even though I asked them too. Gave me a 90 day come back if anything feels weird policy where Bike Farm just kind of says "we're right and peace out". As a woman I always get nervous going to any repair shop because I feel like men there won't take me seriously, can take advantage and overcharge me, which Bike Farm confirmed. TLDR: They don't seem to seriously care about the issues you have with your bike. They will charge you for services they haven't provided in basic & full tune-ups, and the repairs are a quick band-aid fix to charge you & get you out the door rather then solve the actual problem. I've been to Bike Farm 3 times and have only had bad experiences. I don't like leaving bad reviews, and it sucks cause I want to like Bike Farm and support small local businesses, but it's just not it. I don't have a lot of money- but I think it's important to invest in my bike and tip mechanics well, which I always do, and I unfortunately regret doing it at Bike Farm. This review is especially for you people who don't have a lot of extra money - I highly recommend you investing in your bike elsewhere.
