About
Omega Recovery

Omega Recovery is a counseling and wellness center that treats both addiction and mental health disorders. But more than just treating disorders, which are oftentimes merely the symptoms of deeper distress, OMEGA helps people who may be struggling to undergo a transformative evolution into a Self-actualized state. By using a variety of traditional (CBT, DBT), experiential (psychodrama, nature immersion, mindfulness) and less-traditional (REST-Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy AKA Floatation therapy; Heros Journey Archetypal work; Martial Arts and Psychotherapy; Logotherapy; Yoga & Reiki; Somatic work; Holotropic Breathwork) therapies, OMEGA endeavors to shift a person into a deeper, more meaningful and embodied way of being.

image Omega completely saved my life. I did the full continuum - inpatient for 60 days, 2 additional weeks of PHP, and 2 months of IOP. Here is my experience:
When I got to Omega I had been homeless and in and out of jail for the past 5 years. I was an IV drug user. I had no relationship with my family. I felt I had nothing to live for.
I did not know anyone in Austin. I hadnt had real friends in years, just other sick people I used drugs with. There is a beautiful bond among the community of people I was in treatment with in August - October of 2022. Each of those women have a special place in my heart. On Christmas and thanksgiving of 2023, we all exchanged texts of love and gratitude for one another. I just had a long phone call with my roommate from Omega last week, and its 2024. My best friends from Omega came to support me when I picked up my chip celebrating 1 year of sobriety. Because of Omega I will be celebrating 18 months on Valentines Day of this year.
I have mental health issues as well. Omega helped me address that in a way no treatment center or clinical staff ever has before. My therapist was extremely intelligent and passionate. And what that looked like was her holding me accountable for excuses and my manipulation tactics. That was difficult for me at first. I had to change my behaviors and my ways of thinking. Thats always going to be uncomfortable, it is not supposed to be easy. If I had gotten my way at every turn while I was in treatment, I wouldnt have gotten any better. There were a couple times I tried to leave because I was upset. The staff was firm and gentle in guiding me through my resistance, and in doing so, they probably saved my life. Their clinical program is the strongest Ive ever seen. I still use my DBT skills to this day. I truly felt Omega had my best interests at heart the entire time I was there. Here are the facts: I am over 17 months sober today. I am employed today at a great job. I got my drivers license. I bought myself a car. I have a sponsor and several sponsees. I have service commitments in my 12 step program. My parents trust me again. I am in a loving relationship. My BPD is in full remission. I am part of an amazing fellowship of women. Ive developed a relationship with God.
I never would have been able to do any of this without Omega. I cant say enough positive things about this treatment experience.
Last thing Ill say is that Chandler and Madison are AMAZING at what they do. Huge thank you to Dr K and everyone at Omega for giving me a life beyond my wildest dreams!

image I am pleased to share my positive experience with Omega Recovery. The clinical team at Omega is truly exceptional, demonstrating a level of expertise and compassion that sets this facility apart. The options available for addressing mental health and substance abuse disorders are extensive, catering to a diverse range of needs.
Omega Recovery provides a comprehensive approach, offering various therapeutic modalities to support clients in their journey to recovery. The dedication of the clinical team is evident in their commitment to personalized care, ensuring that each individual receives the attention and guidance necessary for their unique situation.
One notable aspect of Omega Recovery is the hands-on involvement of the Executive Director. Unlike other centers in Texas, Jon goes the extra mile to ensure that clients receive the highest quality of care. His genuine commitment to the well-being of individuals undergoing treatment is truly commendable.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Omega Recovery for its outstanding clinical team, diverse treatment options, and the unwavering dedication of Jon Obenoski. It is a facility that prioritizes the holistic well-being of its clients, making it a standout choice in the realm of mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Sincerely,
Tyler Berry

image I spent 6 weeks at Omega recovery and completed the program, if Im going to be completely honest I would not recommend this place for people who suffer from mental health or addiction. I truly wanted to leave after a couple days but I said Id wait to see if it improved then I wanted to leave after my second week but on account of parents I was pushed to stay. It is a very disorganized and a unfulfilling treatment that lacks unity amongst staff and professionalism. Being there 6 weeks there was a lot of advocating for myself on the little things you would expect out of treatment. In my time being there I saw my therapist a maximum of 4 times and met with my case manager 2 times. The staff has little to basic understanding of functionality on a daily basis, I felt more worried about being discriminated by the staff rather than receiving treatment. It took until the end of my 3rd week to sign my treatment plan and begin to start seeing my therapist more, on account of having to complain to meet these expectations. My fellow clients were more accountable to helping me than the staff, they had a better understanding and relationship of what I was going through. There is very little individualized help and more reliance on group sessions in means of treatment. I truly had no idea what I was doing or what I was working towards in means of treatment, and so I thought they would provide a better path of understanding in which they did not, so I was very reliant on myself to advocate for my treatment needs. I have been to treatment 3 times including Omega and this was the least professional and disorganized place I have attended. On a daily basis I was told everything was subject to change which is very agonizing for an individual with bipolar disorder who tries to live with a structured schedule (understanding life happens and things change) but in a contained environment without outside distractions you would think it be much easier to stay on consistent routine, but that standard was not met here. What I was told on the phone and provided on the website was not what I received while in treatment. I thought I would receive more help for my specific disorder of bipolar but it was very broad information and the same information on a weekly basis, I felt I was in school and had to prove my worth rather than receiving help. I felt uncomfortable and under constant judgement on a daily basis. Also the house I was staying at the foundation was falling apart, there were multiple cracks in the wall, an unfinished bathroom with tiles falling, and clear that the foundation was unleveled, and also multiple cockroaches. This is not a place thats going to change your life or save you if you are at rock bottom. In my time being there me and multiple other clients had more complaints than assurances. There was some staff that were good and some that were bad. I really enjoyed the psychiatrist there although my meeting time with her was limited she had great knowledge. The therapists were terrible besides the lead therapist. I enjoyed my case manager when I actually got to see her, (2 times), and a majority if not all the Techs were good. But sadly most of the staff there are as new as you are to sobriety not many of them have longevity of sobriety under their belt and most are still in recovery as well. At the end my dad even received a phone call apology from here, proving their acknowledgment of the situation but still lack to change and improve. I even threatened to sue while I was in there (I wasnt going to actually) just to see how they reacted, and their whole sense care changed upon me once I pushed back. I believe they have awareness of the situation but dont or choose not to change for whatever reason that may be, it took threatening legal action to receive some sort of change. Which I dont want to do but it was my last resort to receiving treatment I needed.
I would not recommend this place in form of receiving treatment, due to the inconsistency, minimal awareness of you as the patient and lack of care overall.
