Today, I experienced a deeply disappointing level of service at Dr. Christi Baker's office at High Plains Dermatology, which was not only inflexible but also lacked the basic empathy and understanding expected in healthcare settings. Despite arriving at 8:15 AM for an 8:30 AM appointment with my 87-year-old mother, who requires assistance and a walker for mobility, we faced unexpected challenges that led to a less than satisfactory encounter. Firstly, the limited handicapped parking significantly delayed our entrance to the building, making us reach the reception at 8:23 AM. Understanding the importance of punctuality, especially in medical appointments, we hurried as much as possible given the circumstances. Upon arrival, we were required to fill out extensive paperwork, even though she was not a new patient, a task made more pressing by the absence of my mother's insurance card information in the UHC app, and its physical version was not available as she had not received it in the mail yet. Despite our best efforts to rectify the situation swiftly and being on the cusp of providing the necessary details, we were curtly informed that we had missed our slot by mere minutes and would not be accommodated. The front desk staff's rigid adherence to procedure, devoid of any attempt to understand or mitigate the stress of the situation, was startling. Their approach was not only inflexible but also came across as condescending, which is never acceptable, particularly in a profession that, above all, should exercise compassion and sensitivity. Offering a noon slot as an alternative without considering the implications of such a last-minute change on patients' schedules demonstrates a lack of regard for the challenges and responsibilities we juggle daily. This rigidity and apparent indifference to patient needs are concerning, especially when dealing with elderly patients who require additional assistance and consideration. As someone with a daughter who is a physician, I understand the challenges of managing a healthcare practice. However, the fundamental principles of care, understanding, and flexibility in accommodating patients' needs, especially the elderly, should never be compromised. This experience has left us feeling undervalued and dismissed, compelling me to question the clinic's commitment to patient care and service. It is with regret that I find myself having to leave this one-star review, hoping it serves as constructive feedback for Dr. Baker and her staff to reassess their patient interaction policies and practices, ensuring that future patients do not have to endure a similar ordeal.

I never write reviews. I really hate to have to say something bad about someone's practice, but I also do work with the public and value how you treat your customer. When you have a patient that is suffering through a painful illness you do not have your nurse call tell them you are concerned with how much you are calling their office. I am not the patient. But the patient had to be his own advocate in this case. I am extremely disappointed and would not ever recommend this office. I am hurt and disappointed to see that this is how a physician would treat a patient.

Very rude & very short. I have been to her on several occasions. She walks in like she doesnt have time for me. After my second yearly exam lasting less than 2 minutes I thought she was rushed that day. Id give her another chance. My third yearly exam - I timed her in the room for a full body evaluation- she was in the room for 1 minute and 36 seconds and thats with me asking her questions trying to have her look at some concerns I had. I have melanoma that runs in my family, and dont take my appointments lightly. I WILL NOT go back to her.
