Six years ago in 2012 I was told by a dental hygienist in this practice that I had periodontal disease and needed root planing and Arestin treatment. The dentist working in the office that day had not even seen me yet. I have seen a dentist for cleanings every six months for my entire life and no one has ever said anything about gum disease. I told the hygienist that I did not want the treatment and would go see my regular dentist back home to see how this could have possibly happened in six months! I asked for a basic prophylactic cleaning. The hygienist said "I recommended a deep cleaning, and if I don't do it, I will lose my license." I am a Registered Nurse - this is patently false. This is not how someone loses their license. If I were her I'd have been more worried about losing my license for making "recommendations" for procedures and prescription medication without the oversight of a dentist. I walked out without any cleaning at all. Anyway, I only wrote this 1) because I see that more than one person had a similar experience here, and 2) I just want to note the fact that six years later, I STILL don't have perio, and i still don't need that root planing and Arestin. I've been seen by a total of three different dentists in a practice in Murfreesboro, and they looked at me like I had three heads when I asked if I was progressing to gum disease. For potential customers - buyer beware. For the hygienist - know your audience.

I was told I needed to have cavities filled, I have bad teeth and would probably need a root canal. This was completely contradictory to any other dentist I had ever visited. When I told them this I was asked if I had been eating a lot of chocolate (I had not). I just went to a real dentist today and not only do I not need a root canal I still don't have cavities. I'm glad I was smart enough no question them and not have unnecessary surgeries.
