Sevier County Minimum Security Detention Facility

Parking for visitors is at a small lot right behind the Food Bank. They keep a sign up next to the parking entrance that says "Sheriff's Dept Parking only" to keep people from the fairgrounds next door from parking there according to one of the officers I spoke to.

Recently spent a little time living there and while the employees are not our friends, some are pretty cool except Jose. He's not cool at all. The air conditioner didn't work and it would be hotter in there than outside and during the winter it was too cold and they hardly turned on the heat. Overall wasn't a bad experience. Wouldn't do it again if I don't have to.

The staff seemed nice I do think the inmates should have privacy when visiting that way other inmates aren't looking at you while your visiting

Please like! The staff are very nice and professional but every week I come to visit there's a problem with the kiosks. It's a waste of time and money. Why don't they offer face to face visitation when their technology fails? There's plenty of parking available at the facility and it's free. There's a public restroom located to the left as you walk into the lobby and 2 kiosks that accept cash or card to deposit funds on phone cards or into inmates accounts, for a fee of course. Visiting is only 1X per week and you must be on the inmates visiting list prior to the visit. I would bring sanitizing wipes to clean the phone used for the visit, just to be safe. I'm sure they don't sanitize after visits so it's up to you to clean it off. Overall it's very manageable and easy to learn the visiting routine. It was never busy anytime I went, the system just didn't work.
