I am a real estate agent and have referred Bill Carlson to my clients for a number of years. He has been and continues to be thorough, prompt with responses and scheduling, a straight shooter, and a real pleasure to work with.

He was phenomenal. As a first time home buyer, he explained everything that I needed elaboration on (aka dumbed it down for us), and addressed any concerns I had. Of course he's going to "nit-pick", that's his job! And a good realtor will be able to understand and explain what's a big deal and what's not if you can't do it yourself. Also, what sealed the deal about him: I had ordered a radon test and he had already set it up in the crawlspace, but by the end of the inspection rundown we had decided with our realtor that we would not be moving forward with the purchase, and he asked if we still wanted the radon test. I said no, so he removed that from my bill! A great guy to work with - so many great informative pictures in his inspection report. We will be hiring him again for the next house we need inspected. EDIT: He inspected another house for us and we ended up purchasing. Thanks again, Bill!

Carlson Home Inspection protected my family from serious issues prior to making our first home purchase in 2012. Bill was extremely thorough with his inspection, identifying issues that other amateur inspectors would not think to look at it. That was the real value with Bill, he was not afraid to really dive into the home. Bill not only identified problems that needed to be fixed by the sellers of the home, he also identified the problems that would happen in the future that were not traditionally covered by the seller (i.e. the HVAC system was 10 years old, he said that we probably had another 5-7 years of life left in the unit, and he mentioned that if we decided to buy the home, we should save up for a replacement in that timeframe). I plan on purchasing my first investment property in the next 2 years, I will be using Carlson Home Inspection to protect my investment at that time.

I called looking for structural repair, but he was very nice to chat through different approaches to getting inspections/bids from structural engineers/structural repair. He was very helpful with references and treated me like a person. Based on interacting with him for 5min, I would recommend his business for home inspections to other people.

Carlson Home Inspection has inspected three houses for me in the past 2 years. I found Bill Carlson to be highly professional and the most thorough home inspector I've ever worked with. I have an engineering background, consider myself a very detail oriented person, and also have experience as a general contractor. As such I feel that I have a little more than average knowledge about the nuts and bolts of houses, including the parts you can't readily see. If you really want to know the condition of a house before you buy, I give Call Carlson Home Inspection my highest recommendation.
