My mother has lived at Harmony at Victory Station for four years. The first few months were very nice, but as management and corporate owners changed so did the facility and service. When mom moved into independent living, there was someone on duty at the front desk 24/7, food was good, staff was nice and accommodating. This made the price at the time reasonable. Since then her rent has increased tremendously. We were told the annual increase would not exceed 4%, this past year was 8%! There is a person available at the front desk from 9:00AM until 9:00 PM. So that is twelve hours with no one on duty at the front desk. The food is not good nor healthy. As we decided to move my mother to a facility closer to family because her health had declined, we were told we had to give a 90 day written notice. The place we are moving her to offers the care she needs at half of the price. I was told to be able to move her without a 90 day notice, I needed a letter from a doctor saying she needed skilled care. The director said he would talk with corporate to see if we could give just a 60 day notice, but I should go ahead in turn in the 90 day notice in order for the three month notice to begin. I gave the notice. Within 30 days my mother was in the hospital three times and diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Her doctor said she definitely needed to be in a facility with 24 hour care available. Therefore I returned to the management with the doctor's letter and a letter from me explaining the situation which had changed. The director once again said he would check with corporate for permission to accommodate our needs. Both times he said he would get back with me but did not. Since I had not heard anything from the director, a family member accompanied me to the director's office for a third time. Again he told me that he would have to check with corporate because they would only waive the 90 day notice if she was moving to skilled living. The family member pointed out that all of the requests being made were were not in the contract mom signed. The director then pulled the contract mom signed and realized it did not say what he was telling me. He said he would contact corporate and let me know something very soon, possibly that afternoon. That was six days ago and I have not heard from him. Either he never contacted corporate any of the three times he said he would or he just simply did not call nor email me the response. I have never written a negative review but feel this is necessary. If you are considering this facility for your parent, know it is not all it seems to be.

I am writing a review for two reasons, first to warn people and second, hoping that maybe this will be something that "corporate" responds to. My mom was at Harmony for a little over 4 years. Her first year at Harmony was what we had hoped for - she made friends, participated in activities and enjoyed the atmosphere. Her only complaint was the food. Not many choices and very institutional. It also contained a tremendous amount of salt. I realize that many places like this and people like my mom suffered many setbacks during the pandemic. My frustration is that coming out of the pandemic, instead of being a caring place for my mom it became a constant frustration. There were individuals who were wonderings the halls all hours of the night, we went from 24 hour 7 days a week front desk person to one there only 9 am to 9 pm and many other changes in dining and service. In the last few years my mom has had to call an ambulance several times after 9 pm and we are always worried if they can get in and to her apartment (I live in another state). As my mom's health declined, we needed to move her closer to my sister and a place more affordable. Her rent has increased over $800 in the last 3 years. When her doctor said she needed to be close to my sister and somewhere they would check on her we notified the management of this. (We had already given our 90 notice to move). The manager told us THREE times he would contact corporate to see if they would accept a less than 90 day due to her health. The contract stated that with letter from the doctor we would be able to do this. The contact to corporate never happened. I feel that my mom and her health did not matter at all to Harmony, and this is an injustice to an elderly person who is dealing with health issues.
