    A nightmare. The movers were untrained. Broke the legs off the piano, chairs, dressers and the bed was destroyed. Over $6000 in damage. One packer stole the silver spoons. The driver was a professional but the rest of the crew were not. A very expensive move.

    One of the best moves I have had! Over the past 15 years I have moved 6 times, Milton and his team made this move much better. They were professionals and they were attentive to what my wife and I said to them. They had blankets for each piece of furniture and handled each piece gently. We appreciate and highly recommend Lanigan for anyone moving.

    If you don't want to read my whole review, the bottom line is that Allied lost (or stole) approximately $3k of our items in transit and accepts no responsibility. Not even an apology. Avoid at all costs. From start to finish, working with Allied was a terrible experience. First, we were told that the movers would come on a certain day, and when I called to confirm 2 days prior (because I hadn't heard back via email to confirm), I was told the movers would actually take 2 days and would come the next day. Next, when items were being packed, an entire closet was missed (Luckily, we did a walk through before we moved). Finally, Allied lost nearly $3,000 of items in our move, including our wedding silver, an unused designer purse and attachments for our Dyson vacuum (not to mention things we likely haven't noticed). When I submitted a claim, I was told that since we signed for our items, the claim was invalid (as if one could actually know what was in every box the day they were dropped off). We paid over $10k for the pleasure of this terrible experience. AVOID ALLIED AT ALL COSTS. As a P.S. I rewrote my review based on the claims process, so youll likely note that the owners responses do not match my review. That said, I think it says a lot when an owner takes the time to respond to a review but not a customer to try to make things right. And, in case you think I just like to complain, please feel free to check out my other Google Reviews and Yelp reviews (I have over 500 as Erin M. In Denver, CO). You might also check out others who used Lanigan to move cross-country (I wish I'd paid more attention, because while they seem to do well within a local area, the out of state reviews trend negative).

Mrs. Clarke, we do apologize for the damages sustained to your items during your move. Lanigan strives to make sure every move is completed with no damage to our customer's belongings. However, in our business items do get damaged from time to time no matter how well we pad wrap them and load them in the moving van.We reviewed your claim and see that each phase was settled in two weeks or less from the time of your submission and that a settlement check was issued for the repairs. >> The driver and a few of the crew members have over twenty years of experience and another one has over ten years in our industry. This is to say that we didn’t send untrained movers to your home. > My office was unaware that this was ever an issue. We also checked the claim forms that were submitted on different occasions and were unable to find where you had claimed them as lost or missing.We did see that some items you had claimed as lost were noted as found by the shipper in your claim settlement letter. We wish this had been brought to our attention before now so we could have run a trace on the missing spoons. However, as your move was delivered in July of 2022 we are afraid it will not do much good at this point. Once again, we do sincerely apologize not only for the damages but for our services not meeting your expectations. We truly hope if you relocate again that you will give Allied and Lanigan another opportunity to meet your expectations. We wish you all the best in your new city and moving forward!

Erin – we are certainly disappointed to hear that you were unhappy with our services. We make every effort to make our customer’s relocations as easy as possible through great service. As you can understand, the global pandemic has affected commerce across the globe and has created challenges in our industry as well. However, we are not making excuses, but would like to take a moment to address the points made in your review.1) Your shipment had enough packing to warrant two days to pack and load and was in our system for two days. This would have been discussed prior to setting dates with your sales person. Our procedure is to contact our customers the afternoon prior to services to confirm crew arrival time. It looks like you beat us to the punch and called before we did.2) If we missed a closet on the packing date, we are certain it would have been caught on loading day. Our drivers complete a walk-through of home with customers upon completion of loading to make sure everything the customer wants to ship has been placed on the truck. It looks like your husband signed our load completion document on 4/9/20.3) We give guaranteed price estimates on our moves, but if changes are made by the shipper, that can cause changes in charges. Our salesperson originally met with your realtor who instructed them, to the best of their knowledge, what was to ship to destination. We always prefer to have the homeowner present for the initial walk-through to make sure our detailed inventory is correct for us and the customer. >> In your case, the costs increased due to a load date change and an increase in length of storage.5) Our driver unpacked the cartons, as instructed by your representative, and placed the furniture items where instructed by your representative at destination. Unpacking is done to a flat surface and debris is removed. The driver said he was instructed to leave the boxes in living room packed and the furniture where it was because of remodeling. Once again, we always prefer the owner to be present at unloading so we can make sure services are preformed to their expectations.We do hate to hear of you displeasure, but hope this helps clear up some of the items that caused it in the first place.
