Support your local business! This cafe is one block away from the Nation's corporate coffee chain, but it was empty this morning. Cafe Keough has better food and beverage options and a nicer atmosphere. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are easy. Vegan options are only slightly harder since the veggie menu items are mostly egg based. The staff was eager to assist with vegan options.

Wonderful little cafe on main street. Great open space, solid food, it's definitely a treat from some of the craziness in downtown. I've been going here on and off for awhile but haven't been back in awhile as I've moved. The manager (I assumed) was fairly rude and did not add to the otherwise welcoming atmosphere. Instance 1) When I asked for the WiFi, she was very short with me and I didn't even understand what she was saying because she spoke so fast (for context, the cafe wasn't particularly busy at this time and my ability to hear and comprehend things are pretty solid). No problem, just used my hot spot because she made me feel like a nuisance and I didn't want to interact with her again. Instance 2) I was sitting outside, staying after open (never came here much on the weekdays and didn't think they closed at 2 pm, simple misunderstanding). The manager came out while I was in a virtual meeting and took the number I was given earlier for my order. Again, since I didn't know they had closed I assumed she was just collecting it. She came out about a minute later and very rudely told me to leave, clapping her hands and raising her voice. Apparently, when she initially came out she had told me that it's time to go. I've worked in the service industry for 5 years, I know it's annoying when people stay after close, but her reaction was just unnecessary and discourteous as I obviously had not heard her the first time (was in a meeting, headphones in). I am always happy to vacate and certainly respect closing times, again, just a little mix-up that didn't need to be escalated. I'm not one to think everyone in the service industry should "act like they want to be here", I know wages are low, customers can be rude, we're in hard times economically. But it costs nothing to be kind and gracious. Instead of acting in that way, she just went straight to being impolite and uncivil.

A little confused as to how the reviews are so high. Im a visitor from out of town and went to Keogh based on the reviews. Servers dont say hello dont smile or welcome anyone. I ordered a lavender london fog tea latte with almond milk and received a lavender espresso latte with regular milk. I ordered the potato frittata and it was very dry and lacking flavor. The tables around me were left dirty with crumbs everywhere and the dining area just wasnt very clean. I understand mistakes happen and when you try a new spot youre taking a risk with the food but what finally had me decide to leave a poor review was the service. The hours are listed as open until 2pm. At 1:25 I decided I wanted a chocolate croissant so I went to order one and asked for it to be warmed up. The server said ok and just so you know well be closing in a few minutes. I said yes, 2pm correct? I was working at my table and wanted to finish some stuff up as many do at a cafe She said no earlier because its slow. At that point I just said its ok keep the croissant and left. Im not sure who the owner is but it doesnt matter if its slow, you stay open for your listed hours and dont lose a sale or rush customers out just because you want to go home. I worked at a cafe/bakery for years that had a similar ambience and menu and if someone walked in 5 min before closing and wanted the whole menu, thats what they would get because we were open. Super disappointing experience - save your money and try somewhere else with better food and that doesnt rush you out.
