West Knox Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine

I had chronic intense itching in thoracic area of my back. Tried different creams, medicines, doctors. Finally,as the itching was ruining my quality of life I was referred to Dr AJ at the West Knox Acupuncture Center. I was doubtful but willing to try a new treatment. Dr. AJ was very understanding and gave me hope. I started the recommended treatment plan. After 2 months treatment my itching and anxiety decreased by 90%. I highly recommend Dr. AJ & Monica. Very soothing environment and the entirestaff are very caring and professional. So glad our paths crossed.

After suffering with severe chronic plantar fasciitis for almost seven months and having already gone the traditional podiatrist route at a well known facility with no relief, I researched whether acupuncture might be the next step. Im a big believer of acupuncture and decided to try West Knox Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine and so glad I did! Dr AJ explained in great detail what to expect and adjusted my treatments each time according to my pain level. For the first time, I feel that I soon can get back to my normal walking/hiking activities!

Update: Upon reading my review Dr. Monica reached out to me and was very apologetic. I really appreciated the fact that she took the time to call me and acknowledge that I had a bad experience and was deeply sorry for that. She also refunded my visit which I appreciated as well. Very poor experience with this place and definitely will not be back. First of all I had no idea they charge $40 to determine if you are a good candidate for acupuncture and then its $150 for a session (that is in you are a good candidate). I have had acupuncture in the past and have never been to a place that was so focused on taking a payment before you even get the treatment. After having a quick 15 minute assessment with Dr. Monica (who by the way was 20 minutes late to the appointment), her assistant came in before I even had needles in me and was asking me for payment and if I wanted to spend $1250 on 10 sessions. It was so incredibly off putting and really ruined the experience of the acupuncture before I even had the needles put in me. I couldnt even relax because instead of feeling like a holistic experience that it should be, it felt totally transactional. For $190 you should have at least more than a few needles put in. There was no cupping or anything. Total rip off and would not recommend this place. I have already found a much better acupuncture business in town and had a way better experience.

I have received acupuncture from Dr. Monica for a year now and it has been a wonderful experience all around. From the first visit she took her time to listen and develop a care plan best suited for my needs. She is knowledgeable and compassionate and always helped with any resources I needed. Both Samantha and Dani are valuable assets to the experience as well. Communication has always been superb and timely. If you are considering the investment in your health I highly recommend making the investment. This was my first time utilizing acupuncture and I'm a firm believer in it and recommend to others whenever possible. You won't regret it!

I love this clinic & the staff. Most people from this area have not tried acupuncture, its typical to follow suit with what the norm (medication) and with what insurance will cover. Take control of your health people, you wont regret it!
