We needed a quick get away from a busy month and escaped to Knoxville, TN after finding this gem of a boutique hotel. It was a busy weekend in Knoxville with the marathon, but the hotel prepared us for that when we made our reservation. This was especially important as the hotel was on the marathon route and parking would have been a challenge. But it wasn't due to the information provided. That initial contact set the standard for service throughout our stay. The reception staff settled us into our room. The room decor and attention to details created the feeling of a small flat in Paris. The artwork, lighting and furniture were perfect all that was missing was the view of the Eiffel Tower. The food exceeded our expectation and the vibe in the restaurant of both staff and customers were lively and engaging. I highly recommend a stay for multiple reasons; the service, food, and atmosphere were exemplary. Thank you, Hotel Cleo, for the recharge!

Needs improvement. We just stayed at the hotel over the weekend- we rarely write reviews but felt compelled to after our stay.
Pros: great location central to downtown Knoxville, beautiful decor, spacious rooms
Cons: firstly, we were promised a breakfast as their restaurant is not serving brunch at this time. On Saturday morning, we woke up to a small display of bread and breakfast pastries that appeared to have been sitting out and picked over. On Sunday, there was no food. Additionally, upon closer inspection, it looked like the dishes had not been cleaned.
There is no designated parking and valet costs a substantial amount. And any other hotel in downtown Knoxville, valet is included. Another thing we found, is that the hot water in the hotel is borderline boiling, so be cautious. There are no late night snacks or service available if you get hungry or get in late- so be sure to bring your own snacks! Lastly, the rooms are not soundproof and you can hear every detail of your neighbors conversation.
We understand this is a new hotel and that they will need to work out kinks, but I cannot say that I would go again or recommend to anyone else. Especially for that price.

Update (Reply to Rebecca the Manager's response): Why would I give your hotel another chance when you have my contact information, know the details of our stay, and still have not called me to "make things right" as promised at checkout in January? Still waiting for Hotel Cleo and the Manager (aka you) to do what's right and keep your word. Until then, we won't be back.
Ps, my review was initially 3 stars. Just dropped it to 1 for the canned response, and the fact that Hotel Cleo STILL won't pick up the phone and call us as promised.

Pros: beautiful clean rooms, convenient location, charming atmosphere, polite staff.
Cons: no convenient ice makers or late night snacks in the hotel, no allotted parking, phones didn't work to call the front desk during our stay, and the bathtub (which was the entire reason for booking the presidential suite for our 13 year anniversary) was turned off via the basement plumbing. Insult to injury, after a less than stellar experience, we were promised a call to make things right that simply never happened, even after weeks of giving them time to reach out.
The place isn't bad at all, but the Presidential is massively overpriced, and they're still working out a ton of small kinks that could have made all the difference. Including following up with customers when they give their word to do so.
At this point, doubt we will be returning. Too many better options at the same price point.
