Young High Flats

Love the layout and storage space. Shelton and Steve are fantastic! Can be noisy at times and shady characters (a homeless man hopped over our balcony rail and was using our outlet for his phone) but security is pretty great out there. Guest parking and close to downtown. We enjoyed our year of living there.

The quality of life in this neighborhood has drastically declined since Young High Flats was built.  Several of these "affordable housing" apartment buildings have been built in South Knoxville along Chapman Hwy over the past couple of years.  As a homeowner in this area, and after hearing the thoughts from other homeowners(in this area), I can say that we are not happy with this trend.  On a positive note, though...for anybody looking to rent a unit from this building...there's a Plasma Donation Center conveniently located next door...so if you're low on funds and worried about not being able to pay the low rent for the month, YOU CAN SELL YOUR PLASMA!!!!  (coincidence?...I think not.)

Very unprofessional. Promised us a set time to move in and they kept pushing it back time after time. Come time for our recertification and theyve called me into there office more than 5 times for the same thing. After complying with them giving them everything they ask for. Even signed a paper saying I never received a 1099 for a portion of my Income. They email me after telling me everything is good about a month later. Shelton gave me a two day notice on a Thursday threatening to evict me and my family after putting up with them not knowing how to do there job. Then tell me iv been living here for almost 4 months not on a lease. There property is super dirty. The trash area right in front of the apartments is filthy just thrown all over the ground. Parking is very tight expect your car to get hit!! Not enough parking on top of that. If you park at the office theyll tow you even though you have a pass they expect you to park across the street in a subway parking lot. When theres no parking. Cops are here constantly. On top of that I know the area so you have to expect it but been shootings in the parking lot. Very inconsiderate people that work here. Not helpful at all. Would not recommend moving here.

From the moment I stepped foot into the office and was greeted so pleasantly by Mr. Shelton, he assured me that I would be taking care of here. And that is what Mr Steve and Mr Shelton have done. The housing situation me and my daughter was facing was troubling enough and I was a bundle of nerves. Mr Shelton kept his promise to make this process as easy as possible. Also the Property was very clean and tidy. Great Energy! Very Pleasant experience Excited to be a Future Tenant.
