    My significant other and I both were purchasing cars after a tree fell and totaled both of ours on the same night. This dealership worked well with us and provided great customer service from out of town (Lexington, KY) until after the car was purchased. After purchase the experience changed. On the day the car was purchased the dealership was unable to find the spare keys anywhere and told us someone must have misplaced them and they would ship them to us. Since then we have called multiple times to remind them and ask for an update or for them to make a new spare key. They have not provided this. Other things to consider is the bank you use for a loan. Especially if not local. This is not the dealerships fault, but they should help guide customers in choosing a customer friendly bank. The chosen bank has been a major inconvenience, as the bank they suggested of the multiple options does not have online services. When requesting to set up automatic payments directly from the bank account they required a form to be completed by mail which was fine, the first time. Now the bank has had us complete this form two times and we get a call every month saying our payment is missed and we are not on automatic payments despite doing everything they have asked. The only other option is to mail checks or go in person. All of this being said we purchased our second replacement car from Greens Toyota in Lexington and I was immediately able to set up online payments. Meanwhile our car from Kingsport was purchased in September 2021 and we still are receiving monthly phone calls from the bank due to lack of technology in April 2022. Additionally, we do not have the spare key promised to us. Some of these things I hope would be easier to deal with locally if I could easily go to the dealership.

    Ive have always felt that Toyota of Kingsport as a top notch business. I have bought more than on vehicle there and until this week would have looked there first when buying another. How ever, now I will think twice before stepping foot on their lot again. My daughter has a 2016 Camry that she did not purchase from Toyota of Kingsport. When her tire sensor light came on I directed her to Toyota of Kingsport to have it looked at and get me a price estimate for the repair. I went with her to schedule an appointment but to our surprise the serviceman stated he could have one of the guys take a quick look at it now. I had an appointment and could not stay with her. I advise her to call me and let me know what they said and what the cost would be to fix it. Within 15 minutes my daughter texts and states the cost would be $170 plus tax to fix the sensor but they were charging her $85 to simply look at the car!!! I can understand a small fee to check the car, $25-$35 for maybe 20 minutes of work, but not $85!!!! And at no time, not once, did the serviceman say a word about a fee period!! Had it been communicated prior to looking at the car it would have been our choice. My daughter did not have the $85 with her at the time. Luckily her boyfriend was with her and able to cover the charge. Not only will Toyota of Kingsport NOT be fixing her car, they will no longer receive any business from myself or my family. And just for the record, there is another auto dealership just down the street that I have purchased 6 vehicles from in the last 6 years. I have never had to pay a diagnostic fee. Ever!!

    I've not had a pleasant telephone experience with the service department to date. It's always someone that seems bothered and put out that they are even having to answer the phone. But everything else seems great and the service staff are always super nice on site. But those hidden behind the phone sure are not.
