Our dog had a bad cough and Young's got us in as a new patient quick to help. Ran a bunch of tests, discussed options prescribed medications, even stayed late on a Friday to help. In the end the cough cleared up and we were very grateful. Thanks for the help!!

Was looking for a low cost solution to spay a couple of young stray cats that showed up at our place and adopted us. I was told by word of mouth this was one of the most affordable places to spay in the Tri. Unfortunately, after calling several vets, Young's turned out one of the most expensive! We simply cannot keep them if they can get pregnant.

Take your cats to another facility. I brought in my 8 month old kitten. When we were brought to the exam room, the lady from the front desk had mixed up the paperwork and thought we were there for a euthanization (putting to sleep). Uh, no we were there for an exam. There was no apology for this mix up and I heard her discussing it in the hallway with someone else with no remorse or understanding of how serious that mixup is. Let's get to the end of the appointment. I am then told my 8 month old kitten is not doing well and we were given 3 options: euthanize, see a specialist for a starting cost of $2500 (exact number that came out of the Young's vet's mouth), or take her home. Ultimately we decided to bring her home as we were getting conflicting information about this diagnosis and wanted the night to do research. I'm not going to on the spot say yes I'm putting my fur child down, especially so young. So this facility knew how badly this kitten was and offered either euthanization or NOTHING from their facility. They didn't offer basic HOSPICE CARE for us bringing her home! No medication for comfort, no FLUIDS for her dehydrated body. NOTHING. That is INHUMANE!!! If an animal is DYING, do NOT give me an ultimatum of "either we put her to sleep or we can't do anything else." HELP ME HELP HER BE COMFORTABLE!! If you truly think she was so bad that she needed to be put to sleep on the spot, why not offer her comfort for possibly the last few hours or days of her life?? We were told we would get a call the next morning to check on us. Guess what? No call. No care. No concern. She passed away overnight. One of your patients passed away after you saw her and even though we were told we would be contacted, no one called to check on us. But guess what I did get? An email requesting a survey about my experience. Well. Here is my experience. We spent the last hours of her life running all over this county getting nutrients, supplies, heating pads, everything to help her. She was the most comfortable she could be because of US and the amazing animal lovers of this community, not the LICENSED care professionals we trusted with this care! We took her to another facility to help with the cremation and they showed so much compassion and care towards us and her little body. How does another facility show more compassion in a brand new patient's death than this facility shows its living, breathing returning patients? Zero stars

We've been going to Youngs since 2019. They were always good to us. However the last couple of years it's seemed to go down hill. I've slowly been moving my pets elsewhere. Everytime we'd have a visit and no follow ups were necessary it seemed like the female vet would always look for ways for you to return for something even if it could be done same day. Why would I return for a blood pressure check when I'm already there and you could do it then? I didn't argue because I knew I wouldnt be returning. We took our 22lb cat for a recheck on his ear infection and he was clear. But suddenly had a heart murmur she didnt catch the other three visits. They couldnt get bloodwork because hes kinda testie. I offered to help hold him because I'm used to his bites and didn't care to help to avoid another visit but she said i couldnt because of policy. Its my cat, how could the owner get upset if my own cat bites me lol? And it always sounded like a sales pitch when something else was "recommended." When we'd do bloodwork on our others I'd be thrown 100 different things before results even came back. Slow down sis, let's not stress the pet parent out until we have results. A lot of times we'd leave more confused and no answers vs diagnosis. The icing on the cake is when I took my cat who had lost a significant amount if weight and there seemed to be no concern or mention. Took him to Mountain Empire and he has heart disease and chronic pancreatitis. He was 4.8lbs fading away and now he's at 6.5lbs with proper diagnosis. Oh, and cant leave out that they put the wrong dosage on my cats heart medicine. She acted lethargic for days before I caught it!!! The front staff there is amazing, specifically Julie. And the vet techs are great too. But not impressed with the female doctor. And we won't be returning.
