I found, Dr. Garrison Smith, to be friendly and direct. He first explained my diagnosis, exactly what he planned, a hiatal hernia wrap. He informed me what might need to be done should there be complications he could not foresee before surgery. He stated his concerns and asked if I had questions or concerns myself. He provided a brochure, he drew exactly what his procedure would look like. I found that very informative. The surgery went extremely well. Dr. Smith has a great bedside manner and very hands on. He listened and did not try to placate any of my concerns. I really have had no discomfort or pain from my hernia repair. I am still amazed how pain free this surgery has been. I did experience complications with gas settling, in my chest, from anesthesia. It was addressed and Dr. Smith made sure it was taken seriously. I would definitely refer Dr. Smith to anyone who needed a doctor in his field. My daughters doctor told her, should he need the same surgery Dr. Smith would be his choice.
