I moved to Jackson from Southaven for work and I brought my son to this clinic because of the ratings and reviews I received from my customers. Anyways long story short I brought my son in for an appointment at 2yrs old around October 2015 because I had some concerns about his speech and hearing. When we were in the office the doctor didn't take me seriously at all he just asked me what makes you think that and I then shared our concerns. He then had his nurse set an appointment with the speech evaluation place but did not write the referral as though he had the same concerns. When the speech facility called to set up the appointment they said it would be almost $300 to have him evaluated I was like why so much and I have private insurance that should pick up some of the cost. She said because the way his doctor wrote the referral with the parents having concerns and not him. I am like what is really going on. I meet strangers and they have way more concern then he showed. Now my son is 3 he turned 3 the 26th of December. I just didn't want to deal with them anymore so I took him back to Memphis to his original pediatrician Feb 2016 where I told her about my concerns and right there in the office she tested his hearing and his vision. He failed hearing in his right ear, and right then and there she gave me the referrals for the doctors we needed to see. I took him in Memphis also and had his speech evaluation done and only cost me $70. At that appointment I found out that he really does have some developmental delays and he is behind in his speech. The therapist also told me that they really like to try and catch this earlier than 3 because he talks at about 1year old level. In my mind I am thinking like isn't this just great. This is my first child and I took him to the doctor in Jackson expecting to find guidance as far as how to help my child, but got nothing in return. I am just glad I did know an alternative solution who is great doctor who was able to help shine some light on our issue.
