I personally would not recommend her services. I feel I was misled after paying $200 consultation, the $1,000 retainer. I gave details for papers to be served. He didnt contested nor did he show up for court . I was then billed another $589 for???!!! Please seek counsel elswehere!!! NOT HAPPY!!! My experience is my experience. If a no property, no kids, no appearance of spouse cost a total of $1789. How much if you really needed legitation! Again I do not recommend.

Ms. Houston was my rule 31 mediator in 3/2017 for my divorce. Mediation in divorce is mandatory in TN. I paid for 1/2 of her 450.00 fee. The rules of a rule 31 mediator is to be unbiased toward either party. As a father who loves his children I sought for 50/50 custody of my children as I think this is best for the children and parents barring proven abuse. Her first comment to me was I was wasting my time asking for equal custody. That mothers were better caretakers than fathers. Wouldn't that solely depend on who the mother was? I then brought up the fact that 70 % of convicted felons come from homes where the mother had sole custody. Her response was I read too many internet articles. She then laughed conversing with opposing counsel at the actions of a judge who had ignored the rule of law concerning divorce. I obtained shared custody of my children through alot of financial sacrifice. If I had it to do over I would do it again. Toward the end of the session she told me more than once she would like to get me into court. Ms. Houston is very intelligent. Sadly she couldnt leave her bias out of the proceeding. If you are female I would strongly recommend her as counsel. If you are male I would ask you read the above true story and decide for yourself. At the time of the mediation I was still recovering from 2 types of cancer. The whole ordeal caused me pain and distress.

Lisa was my lawyer several years ago, I was going for joint custody of my children. I was very upset in court because of lies that were said and got upset several times because I love my children dearly. Finally I shut my mouth like Lisa advised me too and let her fight for me. She won joint custody for me she was very professional and knowledgeable.

I do not handle flat fee divorces. I will not go into specifics about this matter on Google due to confidentiality. I do prepare employment agreements for each client, and they are not required to be signed the day of preparation. I have no fine print. Questions about my employment agreements can be asked before and after signing any agreement. Further, court fees and the cost of service on the opposing party are paid out of the retainer. As stated above, there was also a court appearance and admissible proof put on for the hearing. My bills are always detailed and provide for all time and expenses incurred.

Mr. Hodge, I am sorry that you feel as you do. You and your spouse were both represented by attorneys and they were present at all times during the mediation. I do not make decisions in mediation nor do I gain a benefit whether you settle or not. I did not prepare the paperwork nor was I present when the paperwork was prepared and signed. I represent both men and women in family law and zealously advocate for my clients regardless of their gender. I hope you and your family well. Thank you.
