I would stay as far away from this credit union as possible. They are way worse than banks. They are the only financial institution that I have dealt with that tells you they will give you a provisional credit when you file a dispute and then they refuse to give it to you after making you wait two weeks to request it. They tell you it will take six months to receive it. Their tellers are far from friendly as well. Luckily I never applied for credit from them. Any place would be better than this place for your money.

Worst Customer Service ever. I called immediately after a charge was made on my card to have it stopped. I was out of town and needed access to my debit card, they were not concerned about me. I asked if they could expedite my card or anything they could do. They were rude and playing games with the phone. Ashley and Zac, both need to go back to customer service 101. I am still waiting to hear from the manager Eric. Never bank any where that is not concerned when you called them frantic with an emergency.

I guess I want to leave this review for the entire company and not a specific branch, but theres no way to do that. Ive spoken with 2 other people who have a debit card with Leaders and they say the same thing. They lock our debit cards ALL the time over ANYTHING for fraud detection but its literally the smallest things that set it off. I recently got a new phone and plan and the first payment went fine, but when the 2nd payment was scheduled to come out on auto-pay, Leaders detected it as fraud and locked my card. My phones service was shut off. So annoying. A month before that in November 2021 I took a trip to the UK and I let leaders know. I even went to the bank where they showed me how to enter the dates on the Leaders iPhone app for international travel for when I would be in the UK, and my card was supposed to work because I had done all of that. They promised me that, and I was suspicious because even just making small purchases here in town would lock it. Surprise surprise. I made 3 purchases in London, and then the 4th one set it off and locked it. Why????? They also locked it over Hulu taking out my auto payment for their subscription. They tell me I cant remove the block and that if something sets it off, then it sets it off. And I have to call and be on hold with the fraud detection department for however long, sometimes 30 minutes, just to unlock it Other people Ive spoken to says the same thing happens to them. But do you know what? That doesnt happen to my mom, who is 65 and has a perfect credit score. It only happens to me and other people I know in our early 20s with credit scores that are still building. But that doesnt make any sense because its DEBIT, our own money and not credit. Im getting a new bank. I have to pay my bills. Cant do that with Leaders locking me out 24-7.

Business Response on Google Jul 14th, 2021
Hi Tara, thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the negative experience you've had with fraud protection performance and with using your debit card. We apologize for the inconvenience. We use our member's feedback to improve our member experience. We take your feedback seriously in hopes to improve processes with our vendors and with training our financial champions and members. Through partnerships with card vendors and processors, we strive to keep our member's funds safe and secure as fraudsters are rampant in their attempts to gain unauthorized access to consumer's funds. There is no correlation between credit score and fraud prevention. Any measure to curb fraud is intended to protect our members and the credit union. In addition, cards may decline for other reasons not related to fraudulent activity like current balance or pending balance availability or other deposit related holds. We will reach out regarding preventative strategies to maintain acceptable use of your debit card. Thank you for choosing Leaders!
