My experience at SLR center was not at all what I had in mind… I’m a 20yr old that signed the HIPPA form which as everyone knows is made to disclose privacy between the client so that all Information/ diagnosis stay between client and doctor. Apparently at SLR Center, If one of your parents signs you up for the appointment and or pays for the appointment, the Hippa form fly’s out the window and Doesn’t apply for anything anymore. I left midway through the appointment due to other personal things, after I left I found out that SLR center called my mom and told her what their diagnosis was on me…. I put my email, my phone number and I signed the Hippa form yet I did not receive a single phone call. When I called the front desk they said “we were not aware you didn’t want your mom to know, she made the appointment and paid for you.” I’m sorry but whats the point of handing out a a form for clients to sign if you’re not going to abide by it, when by law you have to. Even if I was 17 years old and I signed that paper the company is still not allowed to inform my mom on any diagnoses that they saw during my appointment. I’m very upset by all of this because even after I called I didn’t not receive a single “I’m sorry.” My rights to privacy was violated. Very unprofessional.
