I had jay as a criminal lawyer and he faught hard for me, but i am stuck between carthage or sumner on who is gonna handle my child suport case. His paralegal wasnt sure if they were able to take the case and she went to ask then, told me i could come see jay....she set up the date and time but then told me it was 250 for consultation.....i didnt pay that for my criminal case but to not be sure at first if you can do it or not then say "sure you can meet with jay but its going to be 250$" you think kind of higley of your self to charge 250 to tell someone weather or not they will help you....specially when it comes to a man, his money, and kids.....speaks a alot when it comes to hiring for a custody lawyer...i would hate to know his retainer and hourly rate.....a free consultation goes a long way when you aren't sure if your willing to help someone or not from the gate. Maybe he didnt want to fool with it and it would be worth it to tell me no for 250 bucks....

I will have to disagree with any negative comments about Jay Ingrum! It's been 20 year's now, but Jay was with me on a nasty custody battle, which I gained custody of my 2 kid's in 2003. At the time, he was Pro Bono. The case lasted about 1-1/2 year's (I think). But he fought for me just as hard the last day, as he did the first. Over the year's, I thought I needed his help with my kid's mother, and he would always talk me through it, and steer me in the right direction on what to do. If he didn't answer the phone right away, he would always call me back, without rushing to get off the phone. I have since moved away. But if I ever need another lawyer in that area, Jay Ingrum will be the ONLY lawyer I will ever use! He is very honest and fair. He will tell you straight up what he thinks will happen, weather you want to hear it or not!
