It's been 3 years since Blalock Homes built for us. After tens of thousands of $'s spent repairing the mess BH's left us with, the house still shakes when a garage door opens, the painted shut windows swell in the heat and pop/crack all night long, the lights flicker when the HVAC kicks on and the tile we didn't replace looks like it was installed by a 6 year old. We had hoped this would be a learning experience for BH's but we continue to hear others complain and are seeing other negative reviews posted. My suggestion to anyone that's already started a project with them: Understand that a certificate of occupancy does not mean the job is complete. You're probably looking at 4-8 weeks beyond that before you should even consider moving in. BH's will likely do the bare minimum required to get a CO, expect their final payment, let client move in and drag out a punch list indefinitely. Don't sell your house, save yourself the trouble and wait until your satisfied before you pay or move in. Also require lien waivers from the major subcontractors. We had an issue where BH's did not pay a major sub and they filed a lien on our property. My suggestion to anyone that's considering BH's...STOP
