In the middle of suburbia sits a old private graveyard of one of the first settlers to Franklin. The last funeral to take place here was in 1870. The land surrounding was once all owned by the family buried here the DeGraffenreid Franklin family. Like many old family cemeteries - the relatives are long gone and it has seen better days. Metcalfe De Graffenreid was buried here in 1803 and he settled here before it was even a town.
