History comes alive with demonstrations of cannon, rifle, and pistol firing. Recreation of TN militia mustering before marching to New Orleans to fight in the Battle of New Orleans, the final defeat of the British forces.

The statue is of a Tennessee Volunteer (not a specific person). It is not an image of Andrew Jackson. Camp Blount is where the term "Tennessee Volunteers" was originally coined.

Camp Blount a Tennessee State Park officially opened today. There is a very cool statute of President Andrew Jackson. Neat park that runs along the Elk River. There are more enhancements in the works for the park.

Couldn't find this place unless its the big empty field with heavy equipment sitting in it. Might be nice to stroll around but there definitely are not any trails out here and nothing to do but stand around looking at the sky.

This will be an amazing place when they finish. Love the historical signs.
