The professors are passionate about the Bible and know it well. If you study online, be aware that the online platform is sub-par and the online lectures, though containing wonderful information, have low production and inconsistent quality. My in-class experience was enjoyable and the professors were responsive. I learned a great deal and do not regret starting my seminary studies here.

Overall Mid-America is an okay school. However, there are many things they could improve on. I dont believe they give their teachers proper training on online course work. I have had a couple of teachers not post stuff for our online class till Friday or Saturday. This makes it very annoying when you need to get stuff done before the weekend. It was fairly annoying that in order to be counted present for my online classes, that I had to sign into the classes three times per week. Sometimes I do not have time do that three times a week. One of the benefits of doing online school should be getting to do school whenever you can during the work week. I transferred here for my last 2.5 years of college from a community college, so I didnt do a lot of the basic classes. Most of my classes were great and I learned a lot from them. However, they say that you have New Testament Electives but the ONLY class for New Testament was Romans. That doesnt feel very elective to me. It was the same thing with Old Testament last semester, only one class offered for elective. If you come to this school, be ready to write papers. Every class is a 10 page paper, and its terrible. Only two degrees are offered (at least when I started) so that kinda messes things up when you transfer in, or you want to study something not as broad as Christian studies, but not as specific as biblical counseling. However, not all of the school is bad. Some of the professors are absolutely amazing! Dr. Brand (who isnt there anymore) did a fantastic job with pastoral ministry and biblical preaching. Dr. Roderick (who also isnt there anymore) is not only my professor, hes one of my biggest mentors. Dr. Jones (who doesnt teach at this location) had to be one of my favorite teachers just because of how personable he is. Dr. Jones literally took my class out to lunch one day. The open door policy is great, and all professors are eager to help (in my experience). I met my best friend there, and I learned a lot about the Lord. This school is very small, so there isnt a lot going on within the students. Dr. Mewborn does his best job of interacting with the students, but theres only so much he can do. Overall, the school is fine for the price you pay. The tuition was one of the reasons I was drawn to this school. The students are nice, the professors are helpful, the activities could improve, the classes could be a lot better, and the coursework is a lot. I will recommend Mabts to anyone who wants to study the Lord with a budget. Also, the school is FREEZING, especially the chapel. Make sure to wear jackets and hoodies for chapel/graduation events. Also, Also, My graduation speaker (2021) was Paige Patterson, and they have had him come multiple times for chapel. I don't know if they would still have him, but they did just last year. Use your discretion on attending here, because of their support of Patterson.
