When I started the Academy of Allied health i was just doing this to get a job so that I can pay my bills. But I started the class and did what I was supposed to do. I fell in love with the work I was being thought even though I went through some stuff and taught it was the end of my journey, but I was supported by the staff and everyone there that I pulled through. I finished my MAA/CMA classes and started clinicals with the rest of my class. This journey hasn't been easy but it's been a fun wonderful journey and I'm sad and excited it's coming to a end. Thank you to the school and everyone who helped me in this journey.

When i started the academy of allied health i had absolutely no confidence in myself and thought i was as dumb as a box of rocks. I didnt know if this would be a good career choice for me but its a short program and i had nothing to loose. We filled out a survey that was just for our own personal benefit. I scored myself very low on self esteem, my relationship health, and how much respect i had for myself and even others. I was in a low low headspace. Homeless with two kids, sleeping in a tent and i knew something had to change in my life. Everyday i showed up to school and prayed with my instructors. I pushed myself more then i have before and the hard work is for-sure paying off! I can honestly say given the same survey i would rate myself so much higher in all categories. The goals Ive achieved being here at the academy is still shocking to me. If you would of asked me at the beginning if i thought id make it this far i would have said no. I honest to goodness thought id quit. The instructors here have made such an impact on my life and heart. I used to make excuses and quit at the sign of struggle, and now i push through knowing if i fall god will be there to help me right back up. I dont care what i do or where i go in life this place will always feel like home to me. I used to not want to wake up and get out of bed, now i wake up excited and i cant wait to get to school. Now its not a cake walk obviously there is stress involved, because of all the tests and work that you have to put into passing and learning and trying to remember so much in a shorter amount of time. Its so worth it though id do it over and over just to stay here and be around the wonderful people who work here! They are the most genuine people youll ever meet! They will be hard on you, tell you the truth and never let you give up. They are exactly who i needed! Ive learned so many things attending the academy. Not everything needs a response, have a coachable heart, appreciate the opportunities, you will learn what your strengths and weaknesses, know what you dont know, the lock on the door to success is gratitude, you are not owed anything in this world, except what you work your butt off to have! So put in the effort!

Theres simply not enough wonderful things you could say about Academy of Allied Health Careers! I found this place by google & simply read the reviews. I put my trust in it after reading all the great things everyone had to say & just thought Id check it out. From then on, a very wonderful person named Allie reached out to me to set up an interview to let me know more about the school. I was resistant, (after convincing myself I couldnt actually afford to go to school & if I did theres just no way Id actually succeed) I said the earliest I could meet was the next Monday. Her response was, well, thats Labor Day & the school is actually closed, but if thats the only day youre available we can work something out! I thought wow, if theyre willing to come in on a holiday to just talk to me about attending there they must really care. Mann, did I not have a clue?! I scheduled a meeting later in the week to go check it out! I originally planned to phlebotomy, but once I got there & met Alan who was so helpful & told me all about my options & help I could receive, I was signing up for MAA/CMA bundle program! He was so helpful every step of the way! My first teacher ended up being that sweet lady who had reached out to me in the beginning, Allie! She was fantastic! If you didnt understand, she was willing to do whatever it took to get you there! I cant tell you any other school that does this! For the first time in YEARS I was making good grades! I ended up getting certified as a Medical Administrative Assistant & in Electronic Health Records! Then I moved onto Mrs. Marys CMA class, I truly had no idea how much my life was going to change! Mrs. Mary CARES! She cares about the people you will become, the people you will take care of, and everyone in between! She doesnt just care about you being a great clinical medical assistant, she truly cares about your soul! She believes in people when they cant believe in themselves, if you put your trust in her she will get you where you need to be! The whole time I was there Jason (one of the owners) came in several times to talk with us and help us push through. He gave us so many talks about being a better person & giving grace. I know some may see it cheesy but it really helped to push through the rough times! His wife Heather who had the idea to buy the school, works at the local Erlanger busting out 14 hr shifts, then shows up to teach as well! Shes awesome! Very down to earth & cares about everyone of her students just as much! Dont forget Mrs. Brandys beautiful smile every day at the front desk! Shes always there to help in anyway she can, whether its a pick me up conversation or simply any way she can help anyone there! Mrs. Robin, I didnt get to take her class but I simply enjoyed her sweet self & the fact that she will talk to you every single day & treat you as family regardless! Amelia, the clinical coordinator & CMA night class teacher, she rocks! She has placed myself & all of my classmates at some really great clinical sites! Everywhere we went is hiring & really great places to be! She doesnt just turn you loose either, she stays in touch to ensure if you need help along the way shes there! Pam Holder is another staff member that cant be forgotten! She has worked for NASA! That sweet lady is full of knowledge & so mothering if you need anything shes always there to lend a hand! Every single staff member there cares about you & will make it known! Have you ever attended college where people go out of their way to make sure you get to where you need to be & love you as their own?! Now, lets talk about the sisterhood! Since September I have made a bond with each & every person in my class! We have fought, laughed, cried, but most definitely we learned to love one another & to give grace! I would have never thought that in a few short months I would be so proud of the person I am today. I could not have reached that goal without every single person there playing a role in my life. Academy of Allied Health Careers is for YOU!
