The hotel was dirty and the grounds are unkempt. I never heard a running vacuum cleaner for the two days I spent there. The facet in the tub kept dripping and would not turn off. The grout is brownish/black (bathroom and kitchen floors) and the elevator floors were disgusting. Even waiting for the elevator and looking down at the carpet, it goes back to no vacuum cleaning. For such a high priced hotel, this should never happen. As far as outside...weeds, weeds, weeds! Nothing is manicured and there were no flowers in the flower beds, just weeds. Hire a professional cleaning crew and a landscape company and maybe you'll get better reviews. Won't stay here ever again.

Very disappointed with the room (2 bed + sofa bed on 1st floor). Renovations are LONG overdue.
The sofa and armchair had worn, torn upholstery. The carpets were pulling away from the transitions to tile. The closet door was broken. The bed skirts were ripped and had all kinds of stains. How hard or costly is it to replace bedskirts???
The tile floors have not been well cleaned, proven not only by grime grout, but also well-set dust & dirt in corners. The cleaning may hit high-touch areas (I hope!) but definitely does not emphasize deep cleaning weekly.

Horribly FILTHY. I was there w a so I couldn't leave or I would definitely not have stayed. I slept on top of the bed. The sheets were dirty. There were ROACHES, big ones and babies. The tub had hairs in it. I had no hand soap for the sink. I went to desk and he gave me a travel shampoo to wash my hands with. Breakfast was decent. The elevators smelled terrible and have dirt caked in the tracks. The microwave was filthy. The fridge smelled horrible and was also dirty. The carpet smelled awful. I am hoping that I won't be forced to stay here again with my business travel.

I'll cover the positives first. The hotel is in a good location, within a couple miles of everything downtown and not far from all the tourist attractions. The front desk staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was good and had hot and cold options to please everyone.... waffles, eggs, breakfast meat, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, etc. And, it was kept well stocked during a very busy time due to a large convention involving kids going on while we were there. It would be nice if they added a second toaster cause your food got cold waiting in line to use the 1 toaster they had. The pool and hot tub were nice, but the pool towels supplied are the size of a bath mat.
My negatives.....
Check-in is at 3:00, our room wasn't ready till 5:15. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite, which was a really nice option so our grandkids could have a separate bedroom and their own bathroom. However, the room really needs some upgrades. The furniture is very old, outdated, and worn, and the kitchenette table legs were so wobbly I wouldn't let my grandkids sit at it. The thermostat in our room didn't work, but fortunately, it was cool enough outside that we could open the windows. The front desk did bring us a fan to use if needed. Most of the doors in the room were broke or damaged but that's just a minor complaint. Overall, we would stay here again because I love the potential that those 2 bedroom suites could have. They would be really nice with just a few minor upgrades. Also, there is no room service. It would have been nice to get clean towels during our 3 night stay, and there were no ice machines.
Rooms: The 2 bedroom suite has a lot of potential with some upgrades. It was supposed to be a queen and 2 doubles but it was actually 3 double beds. Nice to have a fridge in the room and 2 bathrooms.
Nearby activities: You are in close proximity to Rock City, Ruby Falls, the aquarium etc.
