Kinley Chattanooga Southside, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Everything was nice! I loved the bright room with the big windows. The bed was very comfortable . The only thing I found was a little dust on the shelves.

So many cool things to do around the hotel! There is a whiskey distillery walking distance. Next to that is a hot chocolate place. So perf for some family fun or adult fun!

The staff at the location was exceptional, as well as the walking distance to locations and the bar (main, not compass). However, the rooms are standard fare for Marriot properties and lack anything that adds to the boutique experience that Kinley seems to be shooting for in its public spaces, as well as its pricing. Additionally, Company, while a nice addition, is a bland cash grab; once again, the staff was great but the establishment (once you've passed the bookcase) is not a speakeasy - it's a high priced bar with nothing special about it. As for the specifics of our stay, we walked in after a long drive with no reservation and Damien (front desk) was awesome at helping us and booking us a reservation at Compass for after dinner. The valet on at the time (Saturday afternoon; his name escapes me - William maybe?) was also great. Eager to help and understanding of our situation with not having a room yet. Our room, aside from the generalizations above, was clean but our AC didn't work and was making an incessantly loud noise the entire night - no I didn't seek help with this as we were tired and my prior experience at Marriott properties has led me away from this pursuit. Funny enough, the exact same thing happened at the Marriott in midtown ATL which I stay with quite often; they didn't care. The only other thing I would mention is that our car couldn't be brought up to us (since the valet was late) so we had to go get it in 20 degree weather - less than ideal at $22 a night. Overall, Kinley is a nice property and has a lot going for it in terms of location, vibe and amenities (gym was nice) but I think all of that stops at the threshold of the rooms.
