        Location was good. People were super nice. Women's bathroom was clean. Men's bathroom has the typical (gross stuff) on the back of the toilet. Dudes, if you have a blowout clean up after yourself! Laundry room was clean. Gravel space was level. The showers, what to say about the showers. It was like a prison shower. Only 2 out of the 4 were in service. But the season is about over so who knows. Not the best showers let's just say. Otherwise I might stay there again.

Make this KOA your home base for visiting Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, historic Deadwood, the Black Hills and Devils Tower. The convenient Spearfish location allows easy access to trout fishing on Spearfish Creek, miles of biking/running paths, the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery & Archives and the Spearfish Rec & Aquatics Center. Enjoy free live music downtown every Friday night! Relax by the heated pool or indulge yourself at the nightly all-you-can-eat ice cream social. New: 50 AMP KOA Patio Sites, Deluxe Cabins, 50-amp full-hookup RV section, dog park, expanded free Wi-Fi and a new bathroom/shower/laundry building! Open April 1 to October 31 (weather permitting). Pool & Ice Cream Social: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 125 feet. Your hosts: Larry and Cindy Hague.

      Having not ever experienced a prison shower, I cannot make a comparison. I do know that most folks like the showers because they are separate from the restrooms and more often than not, very clean. Plus, there is never a shortage of hot water. There are actually 8 showers and, if some were not open, I would assume someone was in the 2 you found closed. We had all of the showers open until 2 days ago but I am not sure of what dates you stayed. We do appreciate your comments and, the "gross stuff", sorry about that, but you are right and we do try to monitor the restrooms throughout the day.
