Harmony Childcare and Preschool of Rapid City, SD

As I was an employee under Brenda Showalter when it was Harmony Child Care it was probably the worst experience I have ever experienced in a workplace. I have probably close to 40 screenshots of conversations between me and her and other staff of not so nice things in the last 2 years. Brenda had a new owner come June and she is good this place has run better than it ever has with this new owner. Brenda had told the new owner numerous lies about me and other staff members trying to stir up the pot and cause even more problems in the workplace. She is now having a new owner come at the beginning of October again because she doesn't like the way the current owner is doing as it is her business for this time period. Us staff and parents found out who this new owner is going to be in October and we have heard so many bad reviews and complaints about this person. We have parents already threatening to pull their kids come October when this new ownership takes place due to this person and the reviews (including neglect and abuse of children) I highly do not recommend enrolling your child/ children into this daycare which is now New Horizons Daycare/ Preschool if it does not change again same with the prices. Please please please do not enroll your children in this facility after September is over. The staff is good, it's just the management and ownership!!!

Today I went in to take a tour and first of all no one knew I was supposed to be coming so no one told them to expect me so when I got there I was greeted with some annoyance for just walking in when no one came to the door when I knocked like the sign pretty much asked. Second there was not a single person watching the newborn to 1 year Olds in their room there was a small child trying to chew on a cord and there was no one watching them. Third there was no one watching the 1 to 3 year olds in their room, one child was sitting in a high chair covered in food crying and the other 5 kids were just watching TV. The 3 teenagers that were supposed to be watching kids were in the 3 to 6 year old room talking to each other. I'm not impressed. Also the placed smelled absolutely disgusting. I will not be enrolling my child there.

Harmony childcare and preschool is a great daycare for children. Very friendly stuff and nice building. Would recommend this childcare and preschool to anyone who is in need of a childcare and preschool for their children.

I love harmony daycare and my kids have only been there a couple weeks. Brenda is amazing and I absolutely love the staff. Everything is well organized, my son makes crafts almost every day and I love that :) I can't wait to work here!
