Peaceful Pines Senior Living at Rapid City

I worked here when Kelli Back was the administrator. i have to say her and her husband should not ever work in a nursing home ever again. We had a resident in memory care who had behavioral problems and would throw fits. Instead of showing care and compassion, Kelli and her husband would film this woman on their personal phones while the resident was in distress and tell her over and over again that they would send her to jail . Phones pointed in her face and all. How can you be so cruel. This was a emotionally distressed old woman with behavior issues who was in the memory care unit (memory care for a reason!!) and all they did was terrorize her. Truly sick behavior that i have ever seen someone do in all my years as a CNA.

I'm currently workn at Peaceful Pines for the past 6 months. Every one makes sure residents are well teaken care of and happy and every one has a relationship with the residents-I have seen problems with keepin staff but it always seems to be somthin personal vs the managers not being supportive. they always thank me and work with me cuz i play by the rulz. I am proud to be workin here and like the ppl. The don is very passioniate but she is hardworkin n reasonable if you are there for the residents i try my best everyday because i see all the staff workin the same

August 27, 2021. Hello. I worked at peaceful Pines for about four months and up until a few days ago it was a pretty good experience. The Assistant Director of Nursing Kara thinks it’s ok to holler at you and disrespect you in front of family members and the residents that live there. That didn’t fare too good for her this past Wednesday! But I guess she had to learn that lesson the hard way! The Director of Nursing Courtney Klein- I thought was a wonderful person up until Wednesday. All three of us ended up in her office, it’s way too much to put down here, but the thing that was a deciding factor for me to quit today was when my boss Courtney Klein told me in her office in front of the Assistant Director of Nursing Kara that she thought about taking a narcotic out of the paper cup that had pills in it for a resident, pills I had popped into the paper cup- She told me that she “thought about taking the narcotic out of the paper cup to see if I would notice it was gone and upon noticing it was gone would chart that I gave it anyway.” Why boss would think about setting me up like that I have no idea. My work is 100% on point, so I don’t know why she would do this. This incident is under investigation and has been reported to Human Resources. I have also reported her to the South Dakota Board of Nursing. As long as Courtney Klein is the Director of Nursing and Kara is the Assistant Director of Nursing I would never recommend working at Peaceful Pines. Thank You, Diana Smith
