Came to buy an instrument. The salesperson, possibly the owner, was 'very busy'. Okay. I get it. We all have those days. So I tried to be accommodating. Simply tell me a time to come back that works for you. He told me to come back the following day when they opened. So, when I arrived at the time he gave, there were already lessons underway, waiting parents, and a customer or two in the store. That's okay. Not the end of the world. I can wait. Yet this salesperson/owner's manner toward me, grew noticeably more perturbed over the course of the half-hour that I stood there. Quietly waiting. Trying to see it from his point of view, waiting as he rushed from giving a lesson, while mom waited, to other customers. As he closed a sale with two young ladies, not even waiting for them to pick up their purchases to leave, he snapped, "So are you getting the guitar or what?" And, when I didn't plow over the ladies who were still in the process of picking up their purchases to leave the sales counter, he immediately followed up with, "okay then, well I need to get back to my student!" Not the end of the world. I am sure this store is a hallmark in the community, and if you are a parent or a budding young musician, you will be handled with the utmost care and consideration. However... Well, fortunately, at least for my sake, there are other stores in South Dakota where I will be afforded a modicum of civility. A two or three hour drive is a small price to pay.
