Braun Historic Hotel

Didn’t stay. Very old and tired. Smelled stale. Nothing about it made us want to stay and try it out. We previewed our rooms (needed 2 to accommodate our family). Got our money back and moved on out of town. Not scared of staying in old hotels, but this one felt like it wasn’t being taken care of adequately. Bathrooms in one was extremely awkward and felt like we would have wanted another shower after being in it. Both rooms and bathrooms have never had any updates from probably the 70’s or 80’s at least. This hotel needs TLC, needs a fresh facelift both inside and out.

The outside is run down. The "mom and pop" owners don't believe in taking out loans to renovate, so they upgrade one step at a time. If you can get over the looks of the outside, the inside is a neat little step back in time. The room was bright. (Allergy alert* old building: must, dust, dust mites). Sweet little lady!

Hotel stay was fantastic! The staff were great! The rooms were clean and very pretty. Don’t let the outside fool you this is a hidden gem of South Dakota! If you are within 100 miles this is the place to stay!
