        Excellent loop with around 700 elevation gain. Dog and horse friendly. (Not sure about bikes.) beautiful views of the Black Hills and Custer areas. There was a heard of mountain goats along the way. Parking: There are a few parking lots. There were four vehicles when we set out. It is in a State a park requiring an entrance fee or SD park pass. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed on leash. There are stretches of sunny exposure with lots of shady sections mixed in.
