Working with Melanie toward selling our house was a dream. Melanie had one goal - to have our house sold in a strict timeline and she and only she made it possible. Melanie was outstanding and she went above and beyond what was expected of her. For us, she coordinated with our property management company, HOA and our tenant, even though she probably didnt need to. She is incredibly nice and helpful, easy to work with and professional and always on top of things! We found her to be extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of real estate, from repairs to the house to even matters that are of legal importance. She was able to line up a plumber, locksmith, stager, photographer, contractor and even an attorney for us, keeping in mind our spending and advised us of pros and cons of all the steps with total transparency and making sure she was not conflicted. She and her husband even completed minor repairs and painted an odd spot on the wall, saving us time and money: they make a wonderful team. The whole process from listing to selling our house in Mt. Pleasant, SC was so streamlined, all thanks to Melanie! We never felt we needed to keep tabs on what was going on with the house or make a trip to visit our house before it was listed or sold. Melanie and Jed TOOK CARE of EVERYTHING. We were fortunate to have Melanie. We trusted her like we would trust family with our house; she earned our trust. If you are reading this it is because you are thinking about selling your home. Without question Melanie DeHaven is the best realtor in the southeast if not on the entire east coast. She is flat out a blessing. Regarding Melanie: IntegrityCheck. PatienceCheck. ExperienceCheck. Exceptional knowledge of the local marketCheck. Joy and pride in workCheck. Relentless work ethicCheck. I could go on, but you get the point. I have sold many homes in my life, and never has it gone as smoothly and effortlessly as it did working with Melanie. I came to her as an out of state seller who was unable to be local at any point in the process, and Melanie took on the selling of my home as if she were my sister. There was a significant amount of work to be done on the home prior to listing and Melanie (along with her husband) absolutely went miles beyond my expectations. To be geographically separated and not once feel any worry about how things are going speaks volumes. I cant say enough good things about Melanie! She was extremely helpful when my fianc and I decided to sell our home spur-of-the-moment. She has such a calm and friendly personality, which made the selling of our first home less stressful. She carries herself in a professional manner and is very knowledgeable in real estate, especially when it comes to the low country. She put our worries at ease by always advocating for us and making sure we got the best deal possible when selling our house.
