Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health

I was here for 8 months and then a month a few months later. The first time I was there I got into fights and im not violent. Some with staff members who would hit first. Tried to escape multiple times and multiple kids did end up escaping thru the ground under the gate. SA by staff and kids were reported but nothing was done. Riots weren't dealt with properly and kids got severely injured and nothing happened. I tried to escape once and I broke both my feet. I wasn't given medical attention for 3 months. I was forced to try and walk on my broken feet and when I couldn't they would degrade me. Right after the incident. Wasn't allowed shoes to help the pain. I had to crawl for 2 of those months. And got yelled at for it. Kids got ahold of blades from the school building and did serious harm to themselves and got no medical attention. The last time i was there the only thing that had me sent to the short term was the fact that I told the only staff member that cared that I took the pills from the nurses station that was very easy to get into. Staff would give patients illegal drugs because it was the only thing that could keep us sane. Or so they thought. I was SA'd by a roomate and they made me stay in the room with her. I told them too. Their only excuse to why they were so harsh was because "this is a behavioral facility not therapy" when almost every child there wasn't there for behavior, they were there for trying to KTS. Lice and bed bugs, blood and vomit were everywhere. Untreated lice because nobody wanted to deal with it. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!! DEHEC NEEDS TO COME IN ON A DAY THE STAFF ARENT WARNED ABOUT

(I was here from 2016-2017) this is mini jail I was bitten stabbed I had to make a friend group just to have a little organization amongst ourselves cuz the staff didnt do anything staff will take u into corners with no cameras and hit u its happened to me this is mini jail I repeat I enjoyed my time I was a very active kid and they had a gym I liked spending time with my homies in there thats the only thing that got me through was friends in there

I am writing this on my therapist's account. My name is Bryce and I have a dad gum horrible experience of all of your terrible staff I got in at least 27 fights and Ms.Ariel was a terrible supervisor!:( Also, I miss Kyri I luv u! ALSO!!!!, Ms. Kristen, & Ms. Divine were the only good staff yall bed wetters. Ms. Nya you can go find a job at Mcdonalds! ba ba ba ba ba baaaaaaa!!! Im hatin" you!!!!!! You made me diss mcdonalds yall you wart hog faces.

This place needs to be shut down and investigated now!!!!!!! My child has reported so many wrong doings in there. Its nasty. The staff is horrible and rude. When I signed my child out it smelt like an animal shelter. My child said they have roaches along with many other bugs. My child has seen kids get inappropriately touched by staff. Not to mention the staff lied about a lot and my daughter didnt feel comfortable talking to me on the phone bc they wouldnt let her speak freely. I have had problems with the dr trying to put my daughter on meds that she didnt need to be on. My daughters mental health is worse since going to Palmetto. I only gave them a 1 star bc it made me choose atleast one to leave a review. Palmetto dont comment on this bc I have already spoken to yalls staff, coordinator, managers. I have climbed yalls chain of command. These people need to know the truth about this horrible place!!!!!
