Staff were rude, you can hear lobby TV and bell and conversation from the first floor rooms clearly, and the shower head hasnt been cleaned in ages.

Scary! I was traveling for two days to complete mandatory clinical hours. To save a dollar, I booked this hotel knowing I would only be in the room to sleep and luxury was at the bottom of the list of things. The first thing I like to do when I come in from work is shower. Once inside, I put my things down and began to let the shower heat up as I closed the blinds and locked the doors. While checking things out (as I always do when traveling alone) I noticed the adjoining room door did not have a lock on it! I checked to see if it would open and it did. As I am sure you know, there is always a second door to the neighboring room and yes it opened too! I cant think of anyone that would want to share a room with a complete stranger! When there are no locking devices on either door that is essentially what you are doing. So I called down to the front desk to let them know the condition of the doors and to ask if anyone would be staying in the room beside me. After all, if nobody is in the room I wouldnt view it as a problem. I couldnt believe her response! She didnt sound at all surprised! It actually sounded more like I was bothering her. She cut me off to inform me that maintenance is working on itand there is someone staying in that room tonight. I was standing right in front of the door. Nobody was working on it! I persisted to ask if j could be moved to another room just to be told all the other rooms were already booked for the night and she would see what she could do. Just as we got off the phone I heard a cell phone ring from next door. I didnt even need to be close to the door to hear the man yell I DONT CARE WHAT THAT B**** SAID! I am not sure what the conversation was about but I was now certain I was not staying in the room with some strange, loud and angry man! I called my friend and asked her what she thought my next step should be Ive never had an issue like this before so I wanted to make sure I went about this correctly. After getting some advice I walked to the lobby to follow up on the phone conversation. The receptionist seemed more agitated at this time and asked me what time I checked in. She then informed me that by policy you have to report a problem within 30 minutes of arrival. I then argued my case by saying I am a single woman, traveling alone and there are two loud, obnoxious men in the room next to me with no way to lock the adjacent room door! I am still in shock that this would even be debated as problematic! How could you knowingly continue to book out those rooms?! She went to speak with her supervisor and when she returned she treated me very differently. Much more respectful and agreed to switch my room. I learned my lesson tonight, I will never again book at this hotel when traveling again! You cant put a price on feeling comfortable and safe! Safety: I did not feel safe at all! I moved furniture in front of the door!
