      image Ive been a patient for almost 20 years, never had a bad experience, but this last time I stopped perio charting because hygienist was hurting me. Ive had charting for almost 40 years and it can be done without hurting or arguing when requested to stop. I had periodontitis as a young woman and extensive deep cleaning without pain and with pain. The last time I requested hygienist to stop she did ( about 15 years ago.) The hygienist my most recent visit was very unpleasant and took it personally when I asked her to stop charting and blamed me saying it was because of pockets. No. Ive had those 40 years and gentle probing does not hurt. Im very disappointed and do not want to change dental clinics but may be time to do so. No one expects pain when visiting a dentist or doctor and particularly argued with when mentioning it.
