My church referred these people as a resource. For three weeks straight we have called them every Monday. As a matter of fact, I am calling them right now. They only take the first six with the most pressing issue. We have an eviction scheduled for today, unfortunately they are the only ones who claim to have any funding available for rent. The woman was rude there last two weeks of calling and today they are not answering at all. Salvation Army is taking money and donations but take out here failing the community. You need to hire people who actually care about the community they serve and see nothing wrong with being an actual resource and advocate for the community. Now we may be homeless because your frontline worker sees us as a hindrance to her work. Shes rude and nasty when she does answer.

I have literally called them for the past week and a half earlier in the month for the referral that was sent a few months ago that I had forgotten about and no call back, no answer. I called 13 times as soon as they opened and left a message and heard nothing back. I decided it may be better if I just went to pick up my diapers.I had a referral sent over from Palmetto women's center again last Monday (Nov. 13th) and was told, I can go and pick up the diapers. I went in this morning to do just that and was told that I needed to fill out a few forms and I needed my I.D. After giving the woman at the desk what she had asked for she asked for my 4 children's birth certificates or medicaid cards. I asked why, due to the fact I just needed the diapers for the referral that had already been sent over for my youngest daughter she was the only one eligible to get the diapers. I told I didn't have it and was expecting to just come and get the diapers from the referral that was sent over. She told me I could bring it next month when I came to get more diapers. Then she said I could sit down (mind you, I had already been there for an unexpected 25 minutes). I asked sit down for what and again told her that I thought I was just coming to pick up the diapers and she told me there was a process. I told her I had to leave and could not sit down for any longer, I wasn't expecting to be there for 30 mins. Then I left and called the women's center and asked was that apart of the process. They let me know they were not aware of the process at the salvation army, but would call me back and update me. I ended up calling them back about 5 hrs later after not hearing anything back and the desk rep said she would call and told me that the lady at the Salvation army said she went to grab the diapers, but when she came back I had left. Such a Liar and for what? This is not what I was expecting and actually feel that it would save me time and stress to just buy my own diapers. IF YOU HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH LIARS AND HAVE TIME TO WASTE DEFINITELY COME HERE. If not, I would suggest finding other resources or just buying them yourself if possible.
