UPDATE: it's two years later and we are just moving out of our storage unit which the crew insisted on loading without us. The damage continues. My antique desktop is cracked and ripped from the hinges. It was not treated carefully and this is irreplaceable. What a disaster. This company had been highly recommended and the sales person was terrific. The crew, however, was every person's nightmare. The cranky crew chief was there to get things done as quickly and carelessly as possible according to his plan not the schedule laid out by the salesperson. It was a two day move, with them packing the truck one day and moving the next. Where the truck went overnight we di t know, but the next day instead of returning to our home for the last couple if items, the crew chief told my husband to have me wait for a small truck at our house and meet him two hours away at our new house at 9 a.m. Well he was almost two hours late and they were late for me, too. This meant that I was unable to direct the location of boxes and furniture at the new house, and it was left up to my husband who was overwhelmed with the crew. As a results, by the time I arrived they were almost finished unloading the truck and told my husband to go with them to load the storage unit. It was such a slam bdm thank you ma' am that my head was spinning. Stupidly we tipped way too generously which didn't seem to improve the crew chief's temperament or service. When they left we realized that things were missing and horrifyingly misplaced. An antique table marked " storage" as in seif- storage storage unit was randomly thrown in a hot attic storage space with insulation and rafters-- we had NEVER requested. A rig is gone, a box of my shoes, good cowboy boots and several handbags including a treasured antique from my grandmother are gone. Boxes of art that were clearly marked for the upstairs were left in our living room, and our storage unit was a mess...as if teenagers had randomly packed it. The company told us we had to submit our damages right away and although they reimbursed the damages we could see, ( they damaged/ punctured newly painted walls when I was standing there and saw it; otherwise I do not have confidence that it would have been reported to us). We had to hire someone to rearrange the storage unit and it wasn't until a few months later that we realized they had damaged furniture that should have been wrapped. They put extremely heavy things on top of antiques. They scratched the legs of our previously perfect coffee table It's truly heartbreaking. We couldn't see any if this just after the move so the crew's damage was hidden in unit which was impossible to navigate. I would never ever use this company again because they said this crew had been with them a long time. I hope this review helps someone else avoid this company, and lets the company how much upset they caused us.

My husband and I have had several moves over the years and we have always used Smith Dray Line. Their staff is consistent, professional and courteous. We have never worried about anything because we knew who would be there packing, moving, and taking care of us from start to finish. Always had a great experience.
