Fairfield Inn by Marriott Myrtle Beach North

This Fairfield Inn does not do the "Marriott" name justice. Yes, the beds were comfortable, yet the furniture & room is dated. It is as though they have put lipstick on a pig.

It just wasnt up to par with the many Marriotts that Ive stayed at. I know it sounds trivial but the biggest problem I had was that they told me they had no extra pillows when I booked the reservation I made the request for extra pillows. There were no extra pillows in the room when I got there and when I called down to get extra pillows, they said they had none. The next day, I saw the housekeeper and asked her for extra pillows, and I had those Before we went to sleep that night.

Beautiful room, great personalities of the manager and workers. The breakfast we thought was Continental however they had eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, muffins, make your own waffles and much more. The lady serving on Easter morning by the name of Ms. Pat was an absolute joy! Someone needs to make her a trainer. She has it going on. She did the work of at least two people and never missed a beat. This lady was flooded with people for the entire hour I was in the dining area. She moved quickly, kept everything full Even the butter, and things that normally run out, kept tables clean, coffee filled. The entire time she had people smiling, saying good morning and happy Easter. As she cleaned tables she ask everyone " is everything ok, do you need anything?". She never slowed down. I travel allot and NO ONE can come close the hospitality Ms. Pat gave your customers on Easter!!! Yesterday I can't say the same for the one here even though she was great, she needed help. Ms. Pat was exceptional. Thank you Ms. Pat! Because of you, we will return to this hospital for our weekend trips here so we can see you! Good bless you with many blessings like you are blessing others. People forget, it doesn't take much to greet people and be kind. Food & drinks: See my statement above. Very disappointed in a recent stay at this location. The room was not very clean and the air conditioner did not work. The room was dusty and you could tell the room had not been cleaned very well. The coffee maker was so dusty it could not be used. I notified the from desk and a maintenance staff member did come up and reset the a/c unit. That did not work so our room was not very comfortable. I was disappointed in the lack of response by the staff. I have stayed at several Marriott properties and this location did not meet the standard I have observed at other locations. They did not offer to send housekeeping to clean the room thoroughly and did not offer to move us to another room with a working a/c unit. If another room was not available, they could have offered to check with other Marriott properties in the area for accommodations. We will definitely use Marriott properties in the area we know are clean and provide excellent customer service.
