This place overcharges you on everything including black drum restaurant . At first day of checking in they asked me if I drive down there I said no , they still charged for car parking ( Tnx to my daughter 11 y o saw that on the bill ) , restaurant next door where I spent 110$+ 10$ tip on the first day they charged me 152$ and 55 cents. I m not even talking about other days. Bunch of fees around . Room service which I required twice a week didnt even vacuum it. No turkey sausages for breakfast? How about those who dont eat pork ? Do not come back there . Sorry

We truly do love visiting this location during breaks from school. Unfortunately, this trip was less than desirable, primarily because of the unit. If you end up getting a room in South Hampton, avoid room 705. It needs updating, especially when it comes to the mattress on the sofa bed. My minimal hope is that it's thrown out and replaced with a new, decent one following my customer review to Hilton online this morning. My daughter's shoulder is still sore days later because of it. The area in and of itself is so beautiful, the restaurant/front desk/Starbucks staff were all nice, but when you aren't comfortable/still sore from having tried to rest in your room, it certainly makes for an awful stay. Rooms: Don't stay in South Hampton room 705 without first (1) checking to see if the sofa mattress was replaced, (2) check to see if it's swept, and (3) checking the dishes and the refrigerator for cleanliness. You should do the latter two, in general, just to enjoy your stay no matter where you end up. Nearby activities: There's so much to do on the grounds, you really don't have to leave; but, if you do, there are great restaurants, pizza spots, and gaming areas, not to mention the rides at Broadway at the Beach (they give a pretty good military discount, too). Safety: We've visited this location often with no serious safety issues. The gate guards are in a bit of a pickle because they can't keep inattentive drivers from turning in the wrong lanes. Thankfully, there wasn't an accident. Walkability: Even though it was seriously windy most of our trip, walking outside was still great. They loved going down to the beach and the pool area. The walk across the bridge from South Hampton to Embassy is great when it's windy. Food & drinks: The Black Drum serves great barbeque. My kiddos loved the pulled pork, mac-n-cheese, and the pickles. We were actually saddened they changed the menu on Easter.
