The review below was for my child who was special needs and please read. This review is for my other child.
I had my 2nd grader in this school who did very poorly compared to his 1st grade year at a traditional school. So, I put him back in a traditional school for his 3rd grade year. With in the first two months, the school wanted to meet with me about his education. They showed me the test scores from his 1st grade, which were above average, compared to his 2nd grade at ECMCS, which was below average. They took action to get him back on track. Unfortunately, my son lost a year of education since this was never addressed at the Montessori school. I am guessing they did not want to take ownership where ECMCS failed. He now has to repeat 3rd grade to catch up where for the damage the Montessori school did. My child lost a year of education and has to pay for what ECMCS did. Look at the reviews and the reviews from employees. I wish I had. I wish i could take back the year my kids were at this school.
East Cooper Montessori did not do right by my child. From Day one, East Cooper Montessori had an agenda to get rid of my child because my child did not fit their perfect criteria of their rendition of a student. This School broke me and my childs spirit, which I have no doubt, will have an affect on my child for the rest of her life. My child has a disability that we came aware of during the school year, so we sought out treatment. We had an Occupational Therapy, pediatrician, and a therapist to help get all the help for my child to get on track for what my child needed. We were working on getting the right medication, which is a long process. Every medication we tried, Jody the principal, would come back and tell me this is not what the child needs to be on, going against the medical professionals. To my knowledge, I did not think this is allowed to suggest or say this is not the right medication, as they are not qualified professionals. This Blows my mind! The doctors and occupational therapist would write notes and communicate to East Cooper Montessori on how situations should be handled and what was best for my child. However, like I said, this school had their own agenda and would trigger my child time and time again. The staff was not willing to work with my Child and at the end, the school kicked out my child, breaking my child emotionally. For a public school to have the right to pick and choose children is something I will never understand and I was not willing to fight anymore. I had the opportunity to chat with an ex teacher from East Cooper Montessori, and was told that this was the very reason she left the school. I am sure everyone has had their own experience with this school, but this was mine. I am sharing my story, my experience, of what this school did to me and my child emotionally, breaking my child.

My family and I are more than thankful that our 2 children attend this school. It has changed their lives!

We just toured here and it is amazing! All the students are working at their own pace but the most surprising was every student wanted to work. I wish I had gone to a school like this!
