This home appraiser was categorically the worst experience we have ever had in our four home purchases. He far exceeded his role addressing and adding to the report things that should not have been considered including finishing colors. There were no life safety issues identified during the inspection process that warranted the appraiser making recommendations with specific upgrade work and amounts that he downgraded the rating that lead him to then come back for 3 subsequent appraisals. He even held up an acceptable rating because one small 3 inch tile was missing in the renovated bathroom. It was stunning to all the parties during this purchase of the actions of the inspector including our realtor, the sellers realtor, the mortgage company and the underwriters. No one could explain what was going on because they had never experienced an appraisal like that eve before. After nearly 4 weeks, 4 reports and over $13,000 additional expenses we were finally able to close. I would not use Palmetto Home Team for any known reason. Furthermore we have reported them to BBB and hopefully they will be removed from being part of the blind appraisal rotation for home purchasing.
