I kept deciding whether or not to put this review but I am in disbelief that these people would treat someones daughters this way. It is even more sad because the people who run the business are minorities and my partner and I are minorities and they still treated us so wrong. It was not Christ-like. I expect people to treat me kindly because I am a fellow human and I am someones daughter. I am someones child. We are all someones child. When we initially signed our lease with these people, I was not able to walk. I had tore my Achilles tendon. I rode in on a knee scooter and fell just before the steps of the building. The initial building they had was not handicap accessible. I came in with a bloody knee and politely asked for a bandaid and they did not have any bandaid. By law employers are supposed to have bandaids for their employees. I should have known something was wrong when all the screens on the windows were slashed. The floors have holes in them. The ceiling has this black stuff coming from it. The house would leak inside when it rained. We kindly asked the landlords to change them so we could open up the windows during the summer months and they never did. The house we lived in was not insulated at all. I wish we were aware of that fact that before we turned the heat on. We ended up with a $400 gas bill the first month that we had it on. For months we hand to endure the cold. When I was studying for medical school, I learned that people could get hypothermia in their house and if I had not lived here, I would have never known or been able to fully understand and empathize with future patients. I regularly wore at least two to three layers of clothing daily during the winter. We relied on space heaters to keep the house warm. I say house but the living room was not useable because it would take hours to warm up. There was no dishwasher so handwashing dishes in the cold was just miserable. Even if the temperature was warm outside, it would still be cold inside. As I was cleaning up the house, I noticed that there was a sign that the house was posted for $750. They charged us $1,100. Before I moved into the house, I pulled up the information since it is public record, I also used to work in legal. The house was purchased for one dollar. Did I mention that the landlord sent us a letter that our rent was going to increase on our marriage anniversary? I just sent her an email asking for information in regards to renewing our lease for another year and that I had to budget for our anniversary and that was the day that she sent our updated lease agreement. The house should have been condemned. I would not have put my own mother in that house. We lived in the hood where everyday there were gunshots. The conditions that we had to endure were deplorable at best. The landlords never came to visit. Bees got into the house. There was a mice infestation. Cockroaches or water bugs. There were fleas. The house has holes. We spent more money fixing the house up. We had to fill holes with gap filler and critters still got in. My mental health tanked living here. I would cry every time I came homebecause I could not believe that someone would expect someone else to live like this. Even my guests that would visit asked us how we could live like this. We did not have a choice at the time. I grew up middle class and I truly experienced what it was like to be poor. I thought I had hit rock bottom during the pandemic before but this experience took the cake. These people did not care about us or what happened to us after we were evicted. These people should really be ashamed of themselves. TL;DR This company was more worried about receiving their rent then they were worried about actually repairing the house. $1,100 per month. Actually in total we paid this company $21,900 and not a dime went towards repairing the house or improving the conditions for us. That is extremely selfish but I am sure everyone received bonuses and they were able to move into that fancy new building.

James White Enterprises totally transformed my kitchen and dining room area with a level of excellence that can not be overlooked! Their organization was very professional; effective and efficient with communication and labor! Thank you JWE for taking such great care of me and my tiny hotel project. I cant wait to share pictures soon!

Do not recommend under any circumstance. This is what JWE considers an acceptable sidewalk to a newly built home. Brand new concrete stained with red clay! This is what JWE considers as attic flooring! Closet shelving that falls out of the wall when you hang clothes. JWE crews must never heard of finding studs in the wall before installing shelving. JWE kept excess flooring and tile that we purchased, I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor, stay away from JWE.
