This company billed me for services from the birth of my son...17 months after he was born. When the statement was first received, it claimed to be Statement #2 & was considered 8 days past due. The statement itself is extremely vague & ambiguous when listing the services rendered. After calling in, they refused to provide further details on what the services actually were.

This review is in regards to the company, Pediatrix, as a whole. This was the only listing I could find for google reviews. I see that this specific one says Greenville, SC while my correspondence from them came from Atlanta, GA and St. Louis, MO....even though the service provided was in NC. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is ridiculous. They sent me a very fishy, scammy sounding letter stating I needed to contact my insurance company because the insurance denied their claim for a service provided to my newborn child while in the hospital. There was NO information in the letter as to WHAT the service provided was. They didn't even list my baby's name. When I contacted the company, the man I talked to was snarky and sarcastic about the issue. He couldn't tell me anymore than the letter said unless I confirmed my address, baby's name and date of birth. The whole thing was completely fishy. He finally said the only thing he could do was send an itemized statement to the address he had on file. So I said, yes do that. Turns out the bill is for the newborn hearing screening (why is this such a secret???). The problem turned out to be that they had my child's insurance info wrong. My issue with this company is if they're going to send a letter that's cryptic and not give any information, but yet, they'll send an itemized statement to the same address.....why not just send the itemized statement WITH the letter in the first place, so I don't have to spend 2 days calling and asking around to find out if this company is even legit in the first place and not a total scam. With all the scams out there these days, it doesn't seem like too much to ask to simply prove the legitimacy of your company...esp if you're asking for money and/or insurance information.

Charges UHC as out of network from birth of son when EVERY other charge from Greenville Memorial is in network and GMH is an in network hospital. This resulted in around $13K extra out of pocket from denied and out of network claims. From talking with UHC they blame this company for charging too much for their services that is way over the national average and not negotiating a rate with them. This typically happens when a company is a monopoly inside the hospital. Surprise billing laws go into effect nationally in 2022. If this isn't resolved I'd rather spend 13K on a lawyer for this deceptive practice. We didn't have a choice and I'm not even sure what services they really provided past the $120K from in network charges for a 20 day NICU stay. I mean how much does it really cost to have a baby in this country. Wish I could make 120K in 20 days... ridiculous. They are charging like another 50K. Maybe they brought the food trays or watched me or my wife change and feed my son and told us good job??... (feeding was the main reason for the extended stay)... many of the nurses would tube feed because they didn't have the time to sit with him for 20 minutes....
