Saw Dr. McKay after ER referred me for 22mm mass in my thyroid…saw me within few days of calling…great bedside manner, his nurse is on the ball, staff is efficient…after ultrasound of my thyroid, assured me that it was not something to worry about and follow up in a year…

I never got to see the doctor due to my daughters insurance not showing as active. (Though it was active the entire time) The front desk receptionist was so in compliant and rude. I tried to tell her how to bill the insurance, and she wouldn’t listen. I wanted to speak with the office manager, because I was certain she had no idea what she was doing. The office manager “Tammy” was not in, and I could never get a hold to her. I had to ultimately pull the earring out of my daughters ear.

The reception staff there is amazing! My daughter had 2 appointments with Dr. McKay and I feel like my concerns weren’t important, answers to why she was in pain were brushed off. We were scheduled for a CT Scan, came back the following day for the follow up and were pretty much given ZERO answers besides the obvious (it’s swollen). A follow up was scheduled for her with him in December but my mama gut wasn’t having it. With the help of her primary doctor and a separate ENT office that actually sat down and listened to my concerns and her symptoms we now have some answers and are moving forth with the process and possibly surgery! Doctors that listen to concerns are very important, rather than seeing a doctor less than 5 minutes combined for both of the visits she had there.
