The hotels that were recommended were fantastic, the passion that Carol has for Greece is palpable and the trip in its entirety could never have been as wonderful without her guidance. Very good guide!

Carol took care of every detail for our trip from planning to booking to any follow up needed while we were traveling. She has great connections with wonderful guides and excellent dining suggestions. It was seamless and a delightful trip!!

I wish there was a sixth star for this but they only let us give five! A cousin recommended Carol and Ambrosia for my first trip to Greece to visit my family's village and get to know the land of my forebearers. From the first conversation, throughout the planning, until we returned home, Carol was amazing. Could I have rented a car? Yes. Would the rental car guy have met us at the airport with the car, and taken it back from our hotel when we got back to Athens? Probably not. Would we have seen beautiful places, and maybe even the same exact cool towns? Sure. Would I have established friendships with Greeks (some of whom were likely distant cousins) in any of those places? Definitely not. Would I have made it to the records room in Sparta to see my forefathers names in the City's registry? Nope. Would I have eaten well on my own? Oh yeah - I'm better at eating than I am anything else. But would I have enjoyed the benefit of personal recommendations, basically a curated menu, at almost every single restaurant Carol arranged for us? Definitely not. Tour guides? Yep, I coulda done that. Tour guides who are archaelogists? Nope, Carol arranged for that. It was my first trip to Greece but certainly not my last. It was my first trip through Carol and I won't go back to Greece without the benefit of her expertise and guidance.

We were aiming for the trip of a lifetime. We gave Carol a list of places and sites we wanted to see and she created from this an itinerary that was a good mix of activity and relaxation. She suggested in addition several fascinating places we hadn't known about, some of which proved to be highlights of our holiday. The accommodation we stayed in was delightful as well as comfortable, often places we could not have found for ourselves and at much cheaper prices than we could have negotiated. The places we ate at (chosen by Carol) were often in picturesque spots but always serving wonderful food (again at reasonable prices). She also knew what to recommend at each one. Every day was supremely well organised, with regard to timings, travelling between places (often by most breathtaking routes) and lovely places to stop (and eat). We chose to have Carol's company throughout which certainly made the holiday more relaxing and enjoyable. (She's also great fun to be with.) She knows the country intimately, and of course speaks Greek as if she were born there. We would definitely recommend a holiday with 'Ambrosia Travel'. One trip of a lifetime is not enough; we are determined to make another trip to Greece with Carol

We chose Carol's personally guided tailored service for our 3-week trip around the Peloponnese last summer. Having her organize the whole trip and travel with us took away all of the time, uncertainty, and stress of finding appropriate accommodations, negotiating prices, navigating foreign roads, and reworking our itinerary when there was bad weather. I was able to enjoy myself 1000 times more than when I coordinated my own family trips (like figuring out where to eat 3 meals every day!). Carol took our 9-person group's requirements and built the perfect itinerary, then added in her local knowledge and expertise so we had pleasant surprises along the way, like a vineyard in Nemea, an isolated beach with cave swimming in Kythira, a perfect taverna with the best version of the local speciality, lobster spaghetti, in Kyparissi, and magnificent Byzantine ancient ruins that are off the beaten path, like Mycenae. We really felt like we got to know the country and experience the culture. Traveling with Carol was fun and effortless. She lived in Greece for 20 years and speaks fluent Greek, & she even has a degree in Modern Greek Studies. Not your normal travel agent! Her enthusiasm for all things Greek is contagious. (And her imported olive oil is spectacular!) She is entirely motivated by making people happy and delighting them by sharing her favorite places. This was the trip of a lifetime for our extended family, and we are already considering our next trip after this exceptional experience.
