In the early morning of July 4th 2021 a City watermain burst completely Flooding the basement of our home. The basement had been refurbished as a den with an attached office room and also a music studio. My wife awakened me and said it was raining hard and to check on the downstairs to see if all the doors were closed. As soon as I reached the bottom of the stairs I was standing knee deep in water and it was continuing to rise. I went immediately outside and it was still before daylight but no rain and a clear warm evening. There were neighbors beginning to come out as they heard fire department trucks arriving. I asked my next door neighbor what was happening and he told me of the watermain rupture and the water was still uncontained by the city water company since they were working with a holiday schedule and there was already a watermain break they were attending too. Finally, end of event our house was devastated, our furniture destroyed, and years of music, family pictures, and musical instruments were destroyed or damaged. Long story shortened we had to hire a company to drain, clean the mud and silt, and remove all the contents of the lower level of our house and take what was salvageable to their warehouse for cleaning and storage. At this point in three days our loss and cleaning and treatment of our house had come to a cost of $120,000 and was financially overwhelming. I immediately contacted our insurance company, a highly respectable national acclaimed agency to file a report of loss and they sent an adjuster out within three days only to tell us we were not covered for any flood insurance and I explained this was not a flood or act of God but a direct result of a rupture of a city watermain. The insurance agency held fast to the fact I was not covered under this kind of event so began my hiring a law firm and the grueling 2 and a half year uphill battle. The law firm I hired came from the suggestion of a company I was working with on the cleaning and clearing of the entire down stairs and they began their suit filing claims with my insurance agency and the city water works for restitution of our damages. For an entire year they continued to get denials from both agencies and continued to send out more of the same claims.
My wife and I determined we were getting nowhere with the insufficient and same attempts our lawyer was using. It was time to release them and find new council. I met with several law firms to see if any were willing to take our case to no avail. Then I received a phone call from a lawyer, Chase Keibler, who said he understood we were looking for new counsel to represent us in our case. I met with Chase and was immediately impressed with his demeanor, vigor, and homework he had already done on our case and stated he believed he could help us. I was so impressed that I signed a letter of retention immediately and Chase did more in the first month our previous lawyer had done in an entire year. He kept me up to date on all the actions he was taking and was giving my wife and I reports of all the actions he was taking and things he had discovered with trials similar to our case. He truly put our problems on a personal commitment to keep us informed on his actions and results were shaping into a process that was giving us information on possibilities and strategies he felt would move our case into a reasonable outcome for us. He fought diligently and communicated with us on a tireless level during the entire year and a half since we had retained him.
Finally two and a half years after the event, Chase Keibler brought resolution to our ordeal through tireless effort on his part for a settlement that paid for all our bills acquired due to the event, kept my family from financial ruin and guided us the entire way. In our eyes we made the best decision in hiring Keibler Law Group and with the professionalism and personal attention to our problems and legal needs and would recommend Chase and his firm for any legal needs a person, family or company should ever need.
