I checked in on 4/2/24 for a gov work trip around 1pm, they agreed to let me check in early. However, when I got there the front desk agent was the rudest front desk employee I have ever experienced. Even though I called ahead, she acted extremely annoyed that I was checking in early and was ignoring me for 15min doing other things around the lobby while I was patiently waiting. She didn't greet me at all, just asked for my last name to start checking me in. When she asked me for government issued ID and my credit card she looked at me like I was the stupidest person she had ever seen when I gave her my government issued drivers license. She said "I said government ID" I told her that's a driver's license it's government issued through the state. She rolled her eyes at me and said I said government like your work since you have a gov rate. I travel once a month for work, have never been asked for my work ID and she could have just said explained correctly and much nicer. Meanwhile, I'm in my uniform and have my government badge clipped on my shoulder. Just ask nicely. Also, I dont have to show my work ID since its booked through a gov travel agency. The woman didn't have a name tag on. Light skinned black woman with dark brown box braids with some blonde braids in the back. And no I'm not being racist as I am also light skinned and have braids. If she had a name tag on I would have included her name. I would've complained to the managers, an older black couple but they were just as rude. If you don't want to treat people with common decency and respect, don't work in customer service. I didn't choose to be here. My work sent me here and I won't be staying at holiday inn anymore. The service ruined the entire hotel for me. I stayed for a week and all the staff had the same rude "your bothering me" energy. No house keeping at all and no one ever greeted me. Go hate your job somewhere else. I usually love holiday inn, not anymore. Even when I worked front desk at motel 6 I never treated customers that way. Some of us actually have to do our jobs well and treat customers with respect. You do not deserve your job at all. I wouldn't stay here.
